Eco-friendly Laundry! ♡
One night, when I went to go do my dishes, I discovered that I was all out of dish soap. Remembering that my lab had Mrs. Meyer’s dish soap in stock, I decided to go get some. It was upon researching this product that I discovered that Mrs. Meyers also made laundry detergent! From the reviews, it sounded pretty good to me. Upon learning that laundry detergents actually have harmful carcinogens and pollute waterways, I was further convinced to buy a more biodegradable laundry detergent. 30 minutes before it closed, I rushed into Target to buy myself both dish soap and laundry detergent. I settled on the Lemon Verbena dish soap (whose scent I find a bit overwhelming) but couldn’t bring myself to buy such a strongly scented laundry detergent. I immediately explored my other options and found Method’s hypoallergenic Free + Clear laundry detergent. Paired with the Ginger Mango softener, I had all I needed to be kinder to the earth with my laundry.
I have fell in love with my laundry detergent--but more so my softener. While I enjoy how the Free + Clear detergent is virtually scentless, I love smelling my sheets after they have been treated with the Ginger Mango softener. I wouldn’t say that it smells strongly like mango or ginger. It’s more like a very mild blend of the two. Overall, it’s a pleasant, bright smell that I just love to nuzzle my face into. I encourage you all to smell it for yourself at Target and consider making the switch! I’ve found that my laundry feels just as soft and clean and that it even removes blood stains. I also wash my laundry loads on cold water. That being said, I’m still using Oxyclean but maybe one of these loads I’ll do a control test to see if it’s still effective without!
