@hooligan_sparrow is a must watch film, when Chinese human rights activist Ye Haiyan AKA Hooligan Sparrow, was chased from town to town by local governments, national secret police, and even her own neighbours for standing up for justice, she paid a heavy price, like many female activists. She galvanised a small group of women to RISE UP against an elementary school principal who raped six of his students. The filmmaker was also interrogated and investigated. Inspired by these sheroes daily, some people consider this negative news, it’s fear mongering, but it makes me want to fight harder, speak louder and stand up higher. For those who feel pressured, I just hope they will reflect on how they can define success for themselves, find purpose and meaning within activism. We all have different circumstances, skills, talents and opportunities. It’s about how we can use these in a guilt free and shame free to participate in the quest for gender equality. I see courage and strength in everyone, we do not have a limited supply, no one has a monopoly on it. When you feel down, remember these two simple yet profound questions. 1. Have I done my best? 2. Is my conscience clear? NO JUSTICE NO PEACE is both inside us and outside of us. Source @blackilocks https://www.instagram.com/p/CIbxK8LrHfy/?igshid=1qlaniv06abw8
