“  what  ?  "  tim's  attention  snapped  over  to  maggie  at  her  question  ,  not  even  fully  processing  what  exactly  it  was  she  asked  right  away.  he  stared  at  her  for  a  few  moments  ,  brows  furrowed  before  his  brain  finally  took  a  moment  to  actually  take  in  what  she  had  said.  you  could  tell  the  exact  moment  he  connected  the  dots  ,  eyes  widening  and  mouth  slipping  open  in  an  almost  comedic  level  of  shock 

“  wait  -  wait  what  ?!  ”  well  there  was  her  answer.

Kara stretched her legs under the soft fleece blanket, phone balanced on her knee as the (poorly picked) romcom played on the television. The scent of buttery popcorn completely dominated the length of her apartment — she wouldn't complain. ❛❛ 'Love in a Vacuum', ❜❜ she groaned, tapping the screen furiously to leave a review on her Letterboxd account. ❛❛ Plot makes zero sense, dialogue is just aggressively awkward... One star. For effort. ❜❜ Her head turned to face Maggie, who was laying in the opposite direction with their legs twisted in the middle. Finally, we got our much-awaited movie night. ❛❛ Why are they crying over soup? Literal soup. Nobody even likes soup. I'd rather, like, starve. ❜❜

The CHOMP came out of nowhere — since she'd gained her powers, Maggie had been moving with a swiftness that Kara wasn't used to. The Kryptonian froze, realising her best friend was now by her side. ❛❛ You can't just... ❜❜ She could. In the sudden movement, the popcorn had been toppled onto the floor. Krypto immediately dashed over to gobble up the pieces. ❛❛ You're gonna have to relax those fangs. It's been two weeks and you're still biting almost everything. Really weird, being the well-adjusted adult in the room. ❜❜ Kara spoke with all of the love in the world. Maggie reminded her of all the good parts, and none of the bad; even when she was adapting to her new bug-brain, she still had the biggest heart.

Kara returned to her review, pressing the 'submit' button before throwing her phone to the side. ❛❛ You're precious, ❜❜ she mumbled. ❛❛ Precious and ridiculously talented. You know you're my favourite reporter? Don't tell Clark, but... I always read your stories. Twice. ❜❜ Kara shared a warm smile, pressing her nose against Maggie's collarbone. There was a hum drifting in from the open window — noisy horns from endless traffic and chatter from the Irish-themed pub downstairs. ❛❛ So... Do we order pizza, Webhead? I'm hungry. And we need extra cheese. Romcoms aren't cutting it. ❜❜ A brief pause as she adjusted, getting comfortable. ❛❛ Then we can nap for at least a dozen days. ❜❜
