Jazali looked down at her ring hesitantly, the only physical memory she had of her father. She wouldn't consider herself a materialistic troll in any way, but to throw away her old life so casually… she knew she didn't have a choice however. She was treading on thin ice now and this Don was her only hope of not being shot sooner than later. Finally she looked up at Papa with a steeled look as she rose up from the chair, forcefully removed the ring from her finger and placed it on the table without breaking her gaze. She knew that if she looked down at that ring again, all of her doubts would return and she couldn't afford to be hesitant now; ‘when ya make an omelette, ya break a few eggs,' she told herself.
Papa took the ring and started to turn it around, as if inspecting its authenticity as a true An'Ru ring. Finally, he placed the ring inside a drawer and folded his hands on the table, nodding towards the door
"Papa be done wid ya now. Go an' bring ya ot'er friend in." Papa grunted, placing his cigarette onto a marble ashtray.
Jazali bowed her head respectfully, placed her fedora back on her head and walked back towards the exit. No sooner did she go through the curtain of beads did she let out a shaky breath.
"Dat…was too close." She chuckled nervously, wiping the back of her neck as she continued down the steps, not really paying attention to her surrounding environment.
Was she particularly fond of her possibly new Don? Not really. To be fair however, Jazali couldn't afford to be picky and she didn't exactly make a good first impression either; Moki always warned her that when working as a professional to never let her emotions get ahead of her and she made plenty of slip ups in that department. The Don didn't seem like the most morally upstanding person from what she observed and heard from outside rumors…but neither was she. She had a feeling she wouldn't have a problem with whatever work he assigned her to, so long as it didn't involve the loathed Fizzsnipe.
Jazali was so immersed in her thoughts that she suddenly came out of her reverie when Moki shook her shoulder, startling her as if she was awakened from a dream. The Tauren was looking at her worriedly down his muzzle, however still keeping a wary eye on the other members of the lobby.
"So? How did it go?" He asked gruffly, placing a calming hand on her back.
Jazali looked up at him and put on a false cheeky smile "Eh, ah tink it went pretteh well meself! But it ain' me ya gotta worry ‘bout, da big Don wanna see ya now."
"Oh really?" Moki grunted, raising a brow as he looked up at the top of the stairs warily.
"Yup!" Jazali chirped, strolling behind him and pushing his back towards the stairs "An' if ah were you, ah wouldn' keep da Don waitin'"
Moki glared at her shoving arms and walked up towards the stairs, not too keen on leaving his little friend alone in a lobby full of suspicious trolls. But he knew that if the Don wanted to see him he would have him up in one way or another. Soon he found himself on the second level, then guided by the Drakkari from before to a doorway bordered with a beaded curtain and inside was where Papa Don Sowdi was seated. Moki took a deep breath and went inside, taking care of not bumping his giant horns onto the ceiling.
The huge tauren bowed his head respectfully "Papa Don Sowdi. It is a pleasure."
The old troll raised a brow at the massive difference in character of the two visitors; while the little troll from before was short and rather brash, this great Tauren was articulated and looked wise beyond his years.
"So…ya be dah little troll's ‘moo pal', eh?" Papa hummed, analyzing the giant from head to toe. Well, he could certainly see why Maa'ko hired him for extra muscle; the bull was certainly built for the job.
Moki felt his left eye twitch in irritation; he kept telling that impudent girl to stop calling him that, but she did it anyways for laughs. He calmly took off his cap and folded his hands in front of him before replying "The name's Moki, but if you are to be our new employer you can call me whatever the hell you like…even though I'd rather it not be ‘moo pal'," He grumbled the last part.
Papa's keen ears still caught his grumble, but ignored it for the sake of continuing his interrogation "I ain't ya employer yet, but Papa gonna see if ya can be of use to ‘im"
He nodded his head towards a seat next to the Tauren and Moki didn't hesitate to follow his direction. It barely fit his huge form, but Moki tried to not let it show by sitting up straight and staring right back into Papa's eyes, careful not to show any emotion.
"So, ya also used ta work fa ma ol' friend Maa'ko." The elderly troll stated rather than questioned, resting his chin on his folded hands as he waited for an answer.
Moki nodded, not breaking his gaze as he replied back stonely "I worked for him and his family for a very long time. I was one of his oldest workers and advisor."
"An' w'at exactly was it ya did fa ‘im as a worker den?" Papa interrogated, narrowing his eyes at the Tauren as if observing for anything in the Tauren's expression that gave away a lie.
Moki however didn't recoil under Papa's scrutiny and carefully replied back with a nonchalant shrug "I was used for anything that required muscle really. I did the heavy lifting while another person would be assigned with me to do the dealing and raise the price. Sometimes I was also there for…further persuasion."
Papa nodded slowly before asking "Ya kill people before?"
Without missing a beat Moki replied back "Yes."
Papa waited for Moki to explain further, when he didn't the old troll was content either way with this Tauren's short and blunt answers. It would make the questioning much easier.
01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?
Well, aside from the actual real life meaning, I don’t think her name actually has a meaning in Eredun. Mind you, Reithie’s name is actually a nickname per say since she’s accidentally named after her great grandmother Reith’ilyn. But I always imagine her name being a onomatopoeia for, like let’s say, rain falling or a light sigh. Something pleasant.
15. Is there a certain person in this world that they cannot stand? The very mention of this person’s name makes them tremble with anger or fear.
At the moment there isn’t a whole lot that comes to mind.
There was a particular death knight (actually two) that she couldn’t stand. But they are long gone now. As for other people of her past, she’s made peace with them.
21. What is one of your character’s biggest fears? How would they react when dealing with this fear?
Loosing
Losing Varistus, Freiha and Jovakor, not to mention her daughter. Losing the family she worked so hard to gain, she can’t loose them. Not again.
I don't RP with you because... Lack of time, haven't had a reason to run my character into yours, haven't straight up asked you to RP. Also that whole mostly being on a separate server thing
So. I saw your justdraeneithings posts... as you do. And hadda stop for a moment and wonder if it was an SU gem post before I realized. Now all I can think of are the draenei getting really into SU and being nerdy and making gemsonas. Fucking nerds.
Holy shit yeah!
Some of the more tech savvy ones personalize their Vigilant’s to represent their gemsona.
There are in depth discussions about the gem hierarchy, based on how common the gem is verses how rare it is. Draenei make up gemsonas with gems from other planets. Like, “This is Jovite! She’s very smart and uses A LOT of tech” “there is no such thing as Jovite!” “Not on this planet there isn’t”
Some of them wonder if they ever have been on a former gem colony. Trying to piece together evidence and clues “Oh man, what if Rose Quartz was on this planet! That would be so cool!!”
06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?
Erah’sae doesn’t have a lover, really. There are some folks who like him, but as a ‘sae he’s rarely even considering the option. For one that does, they would probably get annoyed on how much he dotes on his draught chocobo Eurus.
Erah’sae and Eurus is a classic tale of a Boy and his Bird. The least wanted chocobo of the set for his kin (due to the rather hostile temperament of draught chocobos) paired up with the least son of the family.
He lets the bird get away with almost anything and will post rationalize the birds behavior instead of considering that the bird might actually be a bit of a jerk.
17. Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children?
Nope. He’s a ‘sae. A fourth son that wasn’t viewed as good for much other than menial chores. It’s never really entered his head space. I think he’s been on all of three dates ever. He doesn’t see himself as worth being a mate because of upbringing and birth-rank.
What-if-Wednesday: What would Reithie do, or how would she and her SO take care of it if for some reason a Shadow Priest did set their sights on her to do her harm? (Assume before child, and assume priest in question is not Rook - Race of your choosing.)
Actually, funny enough, this (while not personally) was part of the guild plot during our venture in Dreanor. A shadow priest of some sorts was looking to do the guild some harm, destroying them from the inside out, by using a mole.
I don’t think there would be too much to worry about. Jovakor has show that he knows how to manipulate the light enough to construct a “shield” of some sort, or a barrier if you will, around her mind to protect her. Also, while he is mostly a healer, that doesn’t mean he isn’t proficient with weapons either.
I don’t think Jovakor would be too worried about Reithie entirely, his main concern (as well as hers) would be the child. Despite Reithie being the better fighter between the two of them, he might highly suggest that she look for somewhere safe to hide.
OF COURSE, you’d have to factor in Reithie’s friends. I doubt Freiha or Hel would be left out of that circle for too long before they come rushing in, guns and bows a blazing.
