I just wanted to tell you that I absolutely love your vampire AU. GAWD, IT'S JUST SO GOOD. ♡♡ I love the complexity behind Mei and Miyuki's relationship. How Mei is gentle but demanding with Miyuki and how Miyuki is playful but resentful [1/2]
(Not necessarily atMei but at his circumstances). I love how the two constantly dance around thatline that defines predator/prey with something close to…possibly lovers? It’sreally unclear where their relationship lies but that’s what’s [2/?] interesting about thisAU. And I love hearing about Mei’s sisters and the way they treat their foodbecause it really illustrates how peculiar Mei is with Miyuki. Miyuki isobviously special to Mei and I’m curious! What caused Mei’s change in [3/?] perspective and whendid Miyuki turn from “food” to “something special”? Was itan event that changed his mind or was Mei simply born different than othervampires? It’s all so fascinating, thinking about the possibilities! Sorry that this AUisn’t posted sequentially. I tend to just write and post whatever comes up. Andhonestly I can’t remember what’s been posted and revealed about my plans forthis. I’m so glad you picked up on the whole dance they go through with theprey/predator and friends/lovers thing. I really enjoy writing their inner conflicts with how things are supposed to be (given their positions) and whatthey want for and from the other.
So… Mei and hissisters… In this AU, Mei is basically in a position that’s similar to aprince/heir of the vampire clan. His father is the current leader, and hasexpectations for Mei. His sisters (I don’t have an actual age but at least 5years older) are a little bitter about being passed over as possible leadersbecause they are female. They want to impress their father by beingexceptionally ruthless to the humans living in their house/nest.
Mei has always been abit different. He takes after his mother more than his father, so opposite hissisters (who always take the opportunity to point that out and mess withMiyuki). His mother is a healer, and Mei actually inherited the ability (it’sin his saliva which is why he tends to lick Miyuki’s injuries :) lol).
The first post“Bitten” was kind of a pilot and I changed a few things in mytimeline. It’s actually Miyuki’s father that leaves him with the Narumiya fam. (Iactually plan on writing this soon so I don’t want to spoil it too much) butMei meets Miyuki at a young age. Mei was always alone (more like didn’t havereal friends) because he’s the heir and most just tell him what he wantsto hear. And then he meets Miyuki, who is kind of snippy with him, and Mei basicallygets attached because Miyuki is the closest thing he has to a friend.
