We finally found a Mexican bakery in our area. We love pan dulce and sprinkle cookies which are probably loaded with crack!!
Mexican Baked Goods
First of all, I need to thank my good friend Kat ( @legendsmade ) for recommending that I go to the Mexican bakery in the city I live in. It was definitely what she hyped it up to be.
So this afternoon, my boyfriend and I went to our local Mexican bakery, and it was totally different than I thought it would be! The next time we go, I will definitely take some pictures and show what it is like because it is nothing like a typical American bakery. Plus, the total cost (we had three other goods that we ate before I took this picture) was only $12.
As for taste, they were amazing! Mexican pastries are not as sweet as American pastries, and I like that a lot. There are no artificial sweet tastes in them. All the ingredients are almost identifiable when you eat them, which is quite refreshing! My boyfriend is Mexican, and he told me that some of the more bready pastries are meant to be eaten with coffee. So we made coffee at his apartment and had a late brunch. (My coffee had lots of chocolate and sugar in it because I cannot stand coffee.) It was very light yet filling at the same time.
So if you need to get a bunch of baked goods for a party or breakfast meeting, I highly recommend finding your local Mexican bakery (if you are one of the lucky towns/cities with one) and getting as much as you think you will need.
P.S. The cake plate that I used to display these goods (I know the plate is barely visible) is for sale on my mother’s Etsy shop. If you are interested in buying it, please click here.
