“Where To Begin” - Bowling For Soup
Sail away, sail away with me
I don't have a ship
But we could get one easily
Drift away, drift away with me
On the raft we'll make of memories
In an ocean we can call forever more
I wanna find
Piece of your mind
I wanna see
Your make believe
I don't wanna try so hard
I make it hard for you to breathe
Jump into the ocean
Living on a notion
If you're caught up in the motion
Back track and do it again
And if you make it up
I could never get enough
Me and you together
But you've gotta tell me where to begin
Break away, break away from me
No forget that
Just sit here and look at me
Summer's day, summer every day
We watch the sunset come back up
And we know it's never going down again
I wanna find
Piece of your mind
I wanna see
Your make believe
I don't wanna try so hard
I make it hard for you to breathe
Jump into the ocean
Living on a notion
If you're caught up in the motion
Back track and do it again
And if you make it up
I could never get enough
Me and you together
But you've gotta tell me where to begin
I've been saving up to buy more time with you
You've been living it up with someone else
And that's okay
I know it, you know it too
Jump into the ocean
Living on a notion
If you're caught up in the motion
Back track and do it again
And if you make it up
I could never get enough
Me and you together
But you've gotta tell me where to begin
Where to begin
You've gotta tell me where to begin
I’ve always loved this song. I first heard it when I was about 18 years old. It’s an easy track to miss, being on a early 2000′s pop punk record and all. The lyrics, in my point of view, accurately reflect the moment where you know what you want, but the feelings are so potent, so overwhelming, that you don’t know what to say. So, you submit to whatever comes out. Words that could be do profound, but at exactly the same time sound like complete gibberish. I know I cant be the only one who’s been there.:) The song reminds me of leaving high school. It reminds me of losing my first love. Road tripping with my nest friends to Warped Tour. Not knowing what was in store for me in the next ten years. College. Camping. And...a ridiculous steel bearing chain which i still own. Oh, and way too many West Coast Choppers shirts. Man, I wish I had savored those days.
