Guess who sung Dalila with their accompanist trying to sing Samson with his falsetto today and totally butchered it, fucked it up and cracked on the high g-flat?
I did, but we both enjoyed it very much so it doesn't matter, my voice teacher will never find out and it was a one-time thing anyway.
Though I do feel like I committed a crime today nevertheless...
So after many painful (mainly for my cat and neighbors) attempts, I finally managed to sing an actually decent sounding A4 in chest voice alone. And I'm like... wow. I can feel that inner Amneris slowly coming to the surface lol
sometimes I just wanna be a soprano 🥲
A conversation I just had with my math teacher
Math Teacher: So you're a soprano?
Me: A mezzosoprano.
MT: A what?
Me: Mezzosoprano.
MT: So... It's pretty much a soprano?
Me: A MEZZOsoprano.
MT: But it's still a soprano, right?
Me: Well... Yeah, I guess...
MT: So you're a soprano. And aren't all sopranos dumb?
Me: :/
MT: :)
there is a part of me that wants to become a baroque specialist but I just don’t know if I want to commit lmao
Being a Mezzo is so Hard
Your voice isn’t high enough for the female leads and not low enough for the male leads
A moment of silence for every mezzo that learned the soprano part for a piece in a previous year and is currently learning the alto part (or vice versa) for the exact same piece
