ALEJANDRA VON HARTZ GALLERY Soledad Arias  l 4:33(John Cage) l white neon light l 4:33 inches l 2011 A language beyond form June 14 – September 14, 2013 Opening Reception: Friday, June 14, 2013, from 7 to 10pm   Alejandra von Hartz Gallery is pleased to present A language beyond form featuring the works of artists who employ the discourse of geometric abstraction as a tool to map and reveal the structures with which we construct a sense of the real. The works on paper, installations, marks and videos exploit the familiarity of everyday objects, spaces and symbols in order to propose an alternate measure of contemporary contemplations on time, economy, art and language.   In this way the artists in A language beyond form explore the potential of objects and images to contain ideas, yet their use of geometry as a visual method also highlights the tension and limits between representation and form. This ebb and flow between meaning and object-making reveals the strength of these works as hypotheses and documents of the way in which artists chip away at their understanding of our contemporary existence.   With works by:   Soledad Arias Leonora de Barros Eugenia Calvo Danilo Dueñas Juan Pablo Garza David E.
