That’s David, the farmhand Margaret doesn’t want want Emma Jean hanging around too much (he’s “too gritty and rough around the edges,” according to Margaret.) Margaret’s “best efforts” to prevent any canoodling between the two weren’t enough, because Emma Jean has a bun in the oven.

It’s pretty open floor on the first level. Papa knocked out some walls a couple decades ago. I know, I know, how could he? He destroyed the historical value and blah blah blah. It’s okay. Walls can be rebuilt. Besides, it’s a lot less cramped this way.

Next is the dining room. Nothing grand, just a nice place to have dinner. Mom hung the family Bible up on the wall a couple years ago with the passage about Jesus’ birth open. She said it’s meant to “invite the spirit of Christmas into the house and our lives all year round.” I thought it was tacky but it’s grown on me.

Emma Jean: Mama, there’s something I have to tell you and Papa. Margaret: This had better not be what I think it is. Emma Jean: David and I are expecting. Margaret: It’s exactly what I thought it was. Well, Marvin, you’re daughter’s gone and done it now. Marvin: Is this true, little girl? Emma Jean: Yes, Papa. Marvin: ... Marvin: I’m gonna be a poppop! :D Margaret: Oh, for heaven’s sake.

On the second floor is my bedroom. It’s very childish, I know.

Next door is the office. Papa bought the computer to talk to his old war buddies on Simbook but he barely ever touches it. Now I use it for writing.

Next to the office is another bathroom. But, if you go into the bathroom, you’ll find a door that leads to my brother’s guest house. It’s okay if you take a peak. He won’t mind. He’s rarely ever in there, so it’s immaculate inside.

Darian has become a nuance since he moved out. He called every member of the family, one after the other, then showed up announced. He just can’t cut the cord.

Also why does he want to get his mom’s permission to get to know his father better?

I got bullied a lot growing up. Kids at school just assumed that I was dumb because I was raised on a farm. Yeah, my parents didn’t really focus a lot of energy on my academics, but I wasn’t stupid. We’ve decided to send Teddy to a good preschool and take extra time to help his young brain develop. He loves reading time and I think he’s going to be a huge bookworm when he gets older.

Darian loves being Uncle Darian. It’s a shame he’s about to move out of the household.
