Syris x Vivi
I was originally going to post this for @ronyascribbles 1000 follower milestone gift but seeing as I'm a bit late for that we'll consider this a slightly less late White Day gift or something pffft. Anyway, thank you to Ronya for both giving me permission to use her fatesona, Vivi, as well as truly inspiring me to keep going with my writing. --------------------------------------------- The gentle snowfall cascaded down to earth like a beautiful dance, blanketing the surrounding land in a uniform state of white. Despite the time of night, this view was unobscured thanks to the radiant shine of the aurora above, allowing the midwinter landscape of the Ice Tribe's homeland to be taken in for all of its splendor. This sight was being drank in deeply by the appraising green eyes of Syris, a rosy blush onset by the cold adorning his face, accented by a fairly large and content smile. "It's even more beautiful than I could have imagined." He exclaimed in seeming awe. This comment garnered a snicker from behind him as his traveling companion Vivi decided it was time to break the swordsman out of his musings. "I mean sure the aurora is kinda pretty but everything else just seems kinda dreary doesn't it?" "Of course not! This is the heartland of the north! It's spectacular!" He responded incredulously. "I think you're just hamming it up again you doofus." "No seriously I almost feel at home here y'know? Something about being here with you just kinda feels right I guess." He said enamoredly, trailing off a bit towards the end. Vivi smiled in affectionate amusement. "You're sweet. But aren't you Chevois? Why would you feel at home here?" "Well yes, but this is an ancestral home. My grandmother was native to this place." Vivi smiled softly, not really being able to relate to this whole "Ancestral Home" business but finding Syris' joy both adorable and heart warming. "A Chevois with connections to both the Fire and the Ice tribe huh? Is there anything you're not?" She half-jokingly asked. "Tall." He joked back. This response drew a short but forceful cackle from Vivi who easily stood at least 10-12 centimeters above the young swordsman. The blue haired outlaw affectionately ruffled Syris' hair with a soft grin, "You're just fun sized." "Oi." He responded indignantly causing another fit of laughter for both of them. After the giggling stopped, Vivi took Syris by the hand with a smile. "Hey, follow me I have to show you something." After 10 or so minutes of hiking through the winter barren forest they came up to the edge of an outlook that gave a striking view of the land around them. "This is where I used to go when I needed a place to just get away from it all. Pretty huh?" The archer asked with a nostalgic smile. Syris took a look around but ultimately settled his eyes on her smile. His lips crept upwards into an affectionate smile. "Yeah. It's beautiful." Vivi's wind-blush grew ever so slightly darker as she understood the swordsman's true meaning. "Thank you." She responded softly. Syris walked up beside her, both now facing out towards the vista with red faces a bit darker than the cold air would warrant. After a few moments Vivi felt her hand gently taken into another. Taken slightly aback by this she hesitated for a moment before her lips quirked upward just a little more as their fingers intertwined. And together they stood, admiring the view and enjoying the company for a little over ten minutes. "We can go inside now if you're feeling cold y'know?" She spoke up after a while. Syris gave her hand a reassuring squeeze before pulling her a little bit closer to him, hands still entangled in one another. The swordsman shook his head causing a shock of his wavy brown hair to fall out of place almost comically. "Nah. I'm pretty warm right now." Vivi smiled in amusement before lulling her head to the side to rest on his shoulder. "You're a dork." She responded simply, but he was right.
