little bit of writing from last year
Digging through my notepad.....
And he will look at her lying there just so, topless on the bed and think of that day he watched her bite her lip and squint at the bright sky. And he will always know that was the day he lost her. The way her back turned, a small set of dimples on her thighs, freckled shoulders, her body her curves her softness, all lost to him now. There was no turning back, no kiss to bring the love they once shared back. Too many arguments, too many hurt feelings, broken promises, too much growth in opposite directions. The love they had once known was epic in proportion to the love they had experienced prior, but there was no ceiling on these emotions, they would know better, greater, deeper love. Love to lose yourself into, like a starless sky swallowing you, enveloping you in passion, and longing til your finger tips itched and your scalp could lift off of your brain, yes, they would know that love again, but not together. How their hearts would ache with it, how their stomachs would churn from it, but the universe would move on, the earth would turn, endless days and nights would blend into one, until a chance meeting, eye contact, a stranger, or a familiar work friend face, and they would both be happier.
