So i will be updating one page at a time every 2-3 days - I do work and no longer have uni to worry about it so this is my long time project Ive set for myself so please enjoy as deep dive back into my Miraculous Ladybug fancomic

also Rusti baiting Audrey with the idea of Marinette as an intern so he can drag his own boss through the mud we stan an icon

you guys have no idea what I have planned some things from the original story I had planned have changed and of course my art style has changed but I hope you can all bear with me

be afraid kids I had a three hour brainstorming session with my sister about this entire series and we decided on what the final scene would be

well Chloenette is the softest and squidgiest of the ships. although if they did get together in the MFTverse... Audrey: gasp, a mothers worst fears are true! My two daughters are in love! Chloe: mom Marinette isnt your daughter youve just made her look like you... Although... maybe in the Mean Grilsverse Marinette turns up one wednesday with bright pink hair a pink dress white leggings and pink kitten heels to show her love and loyalty as Chloes soft gf... 😍

Definitely would take Audrey a hot minute to warm up to idea of the two being girlfriends...but I imagine she would all in.

Her daughter + her little fashionista? What a power couple!! She did want to take Marinette to New York so I imagine she really likes her. And if she somehow became related to the Bourgeois family? EVEN BETTER HAHA TAKE THAT AGRESTE.

In the Mean Girls AU, Audrey isn't just a "cool mom".

I imagine her like the nice version of Burdine Maxwell from Bratz. The founder and editor of your thing magazine and reigning queen of fashion!!! Now darling she will end your fashion career before you can say mother of pink. :)

Audrey: MOTHER OF PINK WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR HAIR AND THAT OUTFIT

Marinette: My girlfriend likes pink, I like pink so this is a reasonable step in our relationship. I will be walking beacon of her favourite colour just to support her.

Audrey:... I like this one Clar-

Chloe: Chloe, mom. My name is Chloe.

Audrey: Well Chloe if you don’t marry this one, I might snatch her up myself.

Chloe: EW MOM NO

This comis is called, 'My Favourite Things' and it explores the bonds of Audrey and Chloe Bourgeois while serving haute couture Marinette style!

Summary:

Audrey takes on Marinette as a Fashion Apprentice, however in doing so she becomes more distant from Chloe than ever before. 

While Marinette learns the ropes of the fashion world, Audrey becomes stuck wishing her daughter was Marinette rather than Chloe. 

Quickly our loveable bug realises she needs to decide whether her dream of being a designer is worth completely ruining the already strained mother-daught relationship.

Some context for the comic:

1. Audrey's character/personality is probably going to divert from canon.

2. Rusticus is in fact a character I created for this comic, so I guess that makes him an OC. His nickname is Rusti and this is used a lot in the comic. Rusticus is meant to be how Nathalie is to Gabriel, an assistant. Before anyone comments about Gabriel and Nathalie'S questionable relationship and whether Rusti and Audrey are the same, Rusti is a gay man. He is a good boy who judges his boss a lot, they banter a lot and their relationship is akin to best friends. He is my son and he plays a central role in driving the resolution and providing good starting points for arcs. I love him okay my handsome son!!! Hs character will be unveiled as the story continues!!!

3. Abeille is Audrey's brand, if I remember correctly it’s Honey Bee in French. The word matched her aesthetic so I chose it as a brand name.

4. The miraculous kids are not kids. They are older, I imagine somewhere between 16-18.

Why is Chlonette not more of a thing when it’s the most adorable of ships and makes everyone a better person (usually). (Also will My Favourite Things contains any ships or will they just use air travel?)

Chlonette probably isn’t that popular for two reasons: Chloe’s many character problems, and the love square. Everybody in this fandom ships at least one side of it, I personally like a bit of every side but my main ship is Marichat.

Honestly though it should be more popular I love some soft girlfriends!! I even enjoy Lilanette, I just love a good redemption. NOBODY LOSES IN THESE SHIPS, EVERYONE BECOMES SUCH A GOOD PERSON BECAUSE MARNETTE IS A BEACON OF LOVE. 

I thought about whether or not I would actually focus on any shipping in My Favourite things for a long time, and... yeah no. I definitely wanted to stay away from the love square mess and I just ain't dealing with it. The story is not about romance more a coming of age story.

Though I gotta admit I might have to hint at some chlonette just because I adore it...I CAN’T HELP I’M WEAK FOR SOFT GIRLFRIENDS.

Abeille is the equivalent of Vogue in this world, and Audrey Bourgeois = Anna Wintour. I'd like to point out that Audrey is not a fashion designer here, her brand is Abeille, and she uses it to start trends, introduce new designers and so on. Her magazine of the same name is about the cult of the creation of beauty, it's how Gabriel was introduced into the industry and how many designers have become household names. Madame Grès is a real person who was a famous French couturier, in this world she owns Grès a competitor to Abeille. She's more of an easter egg to the fashion buffs out there than anything else, but I thought this was a fun nod. I've been working a lot so I'm trying to get these pages done as quickly as possible buts its a slow process. Hope you guys can be patient with me  

Also Rusti and Audrey having a little chibi banter is adorable

This page took a while and I'm sure you can see why, lots of things happening, lots of references ooooooo MYSTERIES!!!!!   That little sentence Audrey said is a big indicator on how she has always viewed Chloe. Lets just say Chloe isn't the most successful kid and Audrey has no time for someone that doesn't show promise regardless if they are her child or not. And to Audrey, Chloe has never shown promise, and thus was ignored her whole life. But there is more to Audrey's parenting that meets the eye.   Christmas is fast approaching and I have loads of shifts at work because of it, so the next page might be a while.

I have to draw a llama Marinette.

Oh no what have you done to me. I’ve spent my tourism class drawing this stuff.

My blonde Marinette has made a return!! She will be in my favourite things comic if I ever get around to finalising the chapters. She is worse than llama Mari because she is basically a puppet to Audrey Bourgeois.

Llama Mari can make decision and be a real hero.
