Onto the goods:

I did note it at the time it came out! Ricky Martin is well-known and is also openly queer. I loved this photo/interaction so much for so many reasons. There was definitely a connection there and it was nice to see.

Hudson’s smile feels very genuine, he was clearly happy to meet him and I imagine it was great to meet someone who is both successful and openly queer. It also seems they got to talk quite a bit and I hope Hudson got a lot of value out of the conversation. It’s hard to be closeted in the industry and hide a relationship - even though he likely didn’t tell Ricky specifics (this was in January) I’m sure it’s helpful to see someone who came out okay on the other side.
