ok, imagine: BNHA AU where Midoriya gets kidnapped by a villian who can travel through dimensions. The LoV hired them to make sure that All Might's successor won't be a threat to them in the future and Midoriya is sent to another universe.
Cut off from the outside, he doesn't notice at first and focuses on making a plan on how to get the hell out of here. He succeeds and flees to UA.
What he doesn't know though is that in this universe, he never got into UA and nobody there knows who he is. Of course, they protect him after hearing what happened to him. But it all seems kind of weird. A strange boy talking about being kidnapped by the LoV, running straight to the school, adressing the teachers by name. Huh.
Midoriya soon realizes that something isn't quite right.
He somehow figures out that that must have been the villain's doing and that he actually is in a parallel universe.
Later he finds out that the All Might from this universe is still looking for a successor. Here, he never gave his power to Deku.
So while the quirk he got from All Might back in his universe works just fine here, there might be a chance that a second wielder of One For all in this universe could cause difficulties and confusion, so he keeps it to himself.
He also doesn't know anything about this universe's Deku. Did he ever meet All Might? Did he not throw his backpack at the slime monster? Is that why All Might never offered him his quirk? Has he given up on his dream to be a hero?
As much as he'd like to find out more about himself here, he still hasn't figured out where "here" really is. Just where is here? Everything seems to be exactly like before he was kidnapped, except for the part that nobody from UA seems to know who the boy was. Not even his classmates. How can he be so irrelevant to his friends lives here, when they were so close back home?
The more important question is though, how will he get back?
