Seong Shik likes to keep their businesses separate, but there are times when that is just not possible. This was one of those times. Woohyun was a frequent—and well liked customer—of Shik’s who stopped by at least a few times a week. The man was friendly and seemed to enjoy Shik’s cooking immensely which, of course, boosted the chef’s ego every time.
It was a shame then that Woohyun was a hero and, therefore, a target of one of Shik’s clients. They had been ordered to “deliver” the hero to an abandoned warehouse district at the edge of Seoul tonight at 2:00 a.m. After a hefty sum of money had made its way into Shik’s off-shore account, Chef promised to make right on their deal.
Woohyun was now in front of Chef, the restaurant just about ready to close shop. They looked over at Woohyun and gave the hero an uncharacteristically sad smile, before setting a plate of what they knew to be Woohyun’s favorite meal in front of him.
“You’re one of the few I’d ever stay open late for,” Shik joked, looking at the clock—6:00 p.m. Food Coma should last until 6 the following morning if they got Woohyun’s favorite dish correct. The group would either have to be very late or very incompetent to miss their mark on the hero. “Eat up, this one’s on the house,” they encouraged.
Consider it the meal of a man on death row…
