Xiaomi would present an improved version of the Mi MIX 2 to the MWC

If Xiaomi has confirmed its presence at the Mobile World Congress 2018, to show its international ambition after a winning comeback in 2017 (especially in India where the brand faces Samsung for the first place in the local ranking of manufacturers), no official information (or even a teaser) was unveiled as to the smartphones that the firm could present. If the Mi 7, the legitimate successor to the Mi 6 of 2017, seemed to be the ideal candidate, several Chinese leakers claimed that this would not be the case. Xiaomi smartphone are best .

Several hypotheses ...

There are still several candidates. We have mentioned in recent weeks two of them. First the Redmi Note 5 , which seems to be a relatively different model of the Redmi 5 Plus (especially at the technical platform level). Then the Mi 6X, successor of the Mi 5X and the first smartphone to ship the second chipset of Xiaomi, called Surge S2 by the indiscretions of January. This mobile could be the object of an international launch under the name of Mi A2 (thus coming to accompany the Mi A1, international version of Mi 5c working with Android One).

The Mi 6X seemed to be the most plausible candidate for a launch in Barcelona: new chipset, possible international marketing, a good example of the brand's aggressive commercial strategy, etc. However, two leaks (perhaps related to each other) evoke a third hypothesis: the Mi MIX 2S. The first leak emanates from the Chinese information portal IT68 . And the second comes from a very active Chinese leaker on Weibo .

... including that of a borderless mobile

The Mi MIX 2S would, of course, be an updated version of the Mi MIX 2, Xiaomi's second borderless smartphone, made, like the first one, in collaboration with the French designer Phlippe Starck. This new version of the flagship of the Chinese firm would be equipped with a panoramic borderless screen similar to that of Mi MIX 2, of course, but also a Snapdragon 845 and a dual photo sensor. In this block, the main element would be a Sony IMX363 sensor, a component that has not yet been formalized ...

Rumors do not all agree on the date of formalization of the smartphone. It could be presented in China shortly before the Mobile World Congress, then be the subject of another presentation for the international press on the show before being marketed, still in China, from March. So that's a new hypothesis, relatively credible. It remains to wait four weeks before having the heart net.
