Did we know exactly how old Phainon was when he left Aedes Elysiae in canon? A reddit post mentioned he is a teen between 13 to 16yo.
I know your slay the princess fic has it's own lore but I was curious if you made him 8yo because of canon or just created your own lore age for him in your fic. (Yes I am not going stop thinking about your fic anytime soon).
There are no mentions of possible ages in Phainon's story besides that one readable where he says he got scolded by his parents one time for leaving wheat out in the rain when he was eight. Aside from that, in the Amphoreus' Saga of Heroes entries, they refer to him as the “smiling youth” quite frequently.
That being said, it's not possible to get exact ages either, since the Eternal Recurrences were all a little different from each other. And how old Phainon was when he got to Okhema depends on when Aedes Elysiae got destroyed/was destroyed by the Flame Reaver. In Cycle#0 at least, he seems to be a teen, judging by the CGs.
While it is true that he took 10 years to graduate, we also have to remember that the Grove of Epiphany doesn't function like our education systems. As in, you don't have to be a certain age and only that age to study there. For example, Castorice, despite being something like a thousand years old, studied alongside Phainon.
what's the age/age range of the princess reader in slay the princess? Also if Khaslana's route is a happy ending does that mean Phainon's route is bad ending?
It's mentioned within the fic somewhere during the flashbacks I believe, Reader is 20 years old as of the events of STP.
This is a nugget that I wanted to hold onto to expand on in the dilfknightphai fic, but I'll say it here, Reader was kept away from the rest of the Amphoreun society for nearly all of her life and debuted to higher society when she was 19. Though even that, was only for formality since her ultimate fate was already decided upon.
And regarding ‘happy ending’ in STP.. it's not a happy ending in the literal sense, I'm sure you know. I suppose calling it a twisted happy ending would be more appropriate. I can't reveal too much for Phainon's route but it's not a bad ending, no.
And since you brought it up, here's a timeline of the events in the fic I'd made back then:
Just finished watching and reading "the dark history of the reincarnated villainess" anime and manga (still on going) and thought of "the dark history of harmony" in the au of slay the princess fic🤪. It's a story of a 30 something working women getting isekaid in to the world of her fan fiction she wrote in her teenage phase. It's full of humour and cringe only some one who is familiar with the fan fiction scene would get. It's not amazing or ground breaking but it still was very enjoyable. So what do think you would do if you were isekaid in slay the princess fic au harmony? Would you rather be the princess and bag the flame reaver as it was destined😌 or runaway with the hero phainon🫣? Or in the typical way of some manhwa stories go you wake up as maid or lady knight to the princess as a extra the author never wrote, try to keep a low profile but something seems 🤔 off. Is it just you or the hero is paying way to much attention to you even more then the princess? Are you hallucinating or did you just saw shadow or multiple shadows stalking you😱? Who could it be🤔 😏 😉? Me I would hold on to hero Phainon like a koala bear and never let go 😆 .By the way if like you can check the manga and anime I mentioned. I got Tit-for-tat thrice and Slay the Princess twice LOL. I was planning on turning this into a chain-game actually but I got busy with other things and forgot orz.
I can survive TFT (I think) but STP... 😭 I think it'd depend on what I got reincarnated as. The Princess? If I get Phainon's route, easy-peasy. If I get Flame Reaver's, I'd utilize my knowledge to reunite the brothers honestly. And I'm confident Flame Reaver wouldn't be able to do anything to me either, I wrote him, lah.
A suspiciously self-aware extra on the other hand? Considering the timeline, I'd get accused of being a witch within two days lmaooo

After a while you kind of stop taking Jimmy seriously but the hide-and-seek esque format was so 👀 I might have a thing for that gang (doesn't help that I just kept on thinking about Flame Reaver through it all absjjsjsk)
I hear a sequel is coming out this year,,, so hopefully it'll be just as good as the first game 🤲🏻
Just a thought that occurred to me since you haven't decided on a name for dilfknightphai fic I just thought of naming it "beyond the journey's end". This is from Frieren. Since Phainon's marriage to the princess is going to happen after the supposed defeat of the Flame reaver (the demon king) I just randomly thought of this. Also Frieren journey after is full of nostalgia and looking back at the past. Since Phainon's 45yo in this AU I thought that there might be nostalgic moments. Ohhh, cute! I don't think that quite fits with what I have in mind though,,, ‘Beyond the journey's end’ has more of an adventure-like feeling to it, rather than a sense of finally settling? The fic is about Phainon finally retiring from his deliverer duties and how both reader and him settle into the whole arranged marriage, how they learn to trust each other and collaborate.

He seriously is a character that can fit into any type of setting/AU. Thinking about a manipulative con artist Phainon with a "foolishly honest" reader just like the anime MC.😳
