COMMUNICATION RECIEVED FROM GHOST
happy birthday @miajina
blooming - juneiverse | @miajina
there's not much that hyunwoo can do as crown prince with advisors at every turn in the castle and a little sister who has made it her life's goal to tattle on hyunwoo every chance she can find. he loves her to bits and takes his responsibilities for the kingdom very seriously but, sometimes he needs a moment to himself to relax and breathe. with an impending wedding and more expectations to be put on his shoulders, hyunwoo knows there won't be many of these moments left. he'll be expected to take over for his harried and tired parents and set precedence as the new generation of the royal lineage. he had a reputation as the people's prince to uphold and new trust to gain in them as their soon-to-be ruler.
his family is adored by the people, rich and common alike and hyunwoo will do anything to keep that love and trust the public has extended to his parents. he wants to be a good ruler, wants to be a king they can put their utmost faith into, but he knows how much effort that will take and energy he will need to find. he's an energetic soul, but he knows that freeness isn't always what the people will need and he will have to focus it into laws and hearing out complaints and resolving matters. he will need to put that energy into marrying his fated intended and eventually welcome his own children into this life and start the cycle anew.
hyunwoo doesn't know much about his future wife, if things work out, other that she's a lovely person and is the sister to their kingdom's own crown prince. his heart hurts a little for the woman he ends up marrying in the future, knows that they will become queen only at the expense of leaving her family, friends, and people behind.
he's walking in his personal garden, the one gifted by his grandmother before she retired to the ocean-side house, when he notices another person. there's a young woman, most likely his age, following the east side's path. she doesn't look at all familiar, hyunwoo prides himself at knowing everyone who frequents the castle whether visitor or staff, and she looks a bit like how his mother had described his possible intended. she has high cheekbones and lovely eyes and the sight of her captures his breath for a just a moment. it's enough to put a halt in his step but he soon recovers and makes his way towards her.
"those are a flower native to the port area near the ocean, the former queen saerok had them planted to remind her of the parting waves and salty shores." he reaches down to pluck on by the stem. "she wanted a piece of the ocean to remember before she eventually retired there with her husband the late king hyungwon." he offers the flower out to her with a shy smile. "don't worry about plucking one or two from the garden, i promise the owner wouldn't mind."
trying to be so perfect
guess, i'm wishing my life away with these things i'll never say
he thinks maybe it’s time for him to face his thoughts head on—and by that he means maybe it’s time for him to tell his sister about the maybe crush that he has. he’s not quite sure if that’s what he would classify how he feels about his fellow gryffindor quidditch teammate but he doesn’t know how else to classify his feelings.
not that he has feelings or anything.
(groan)
finding his sister @miajina isn’t hard—they’re twins after all, and he probably knows all of her hiding spots as well as she knows his aka very well. it’s awful sometimes, when he just wants to be alone but she can find him after maybe only a few tries. which is annoying, because he has a lot of different hiding spots and yet she can always find him within three. though, it’s the same vice versa so he can’t be too mad.
either way, he plops himself down next to her when he locates her outside, near the lake. it’s been nice weather lately, so he’s not surprised to see her there. it’s a place they sometimes frequent and have picnics, though those often have their other friends around as well. “hey,” jinseo greets, plopping down so he’s laying on his back, staring up at the blue sky. “i think i like someone.”

it's no surprise to find jina at jinseo's side again. insoo's not entirely sure she even left, not that he blames her. his brother had been severely injured once and it was one of the scariest moments of his life. nothing could prepare him of the intense sickness he felt at seeing his brother fall unconcious, red staining the dead grass patches. insoo was the one to patch him up, using his knowledge from the books he'd read during their time outside the city. his parents had helped with what they could, but it was ultimately up to him to staunch the bleeding and keep him alive. the period of time after that incident was tense. insoo could barely sleep in fear of his brother slipping from his grasp, the dreams he was plagued with when he did fall asleep weren't any better. he wouldn't leave his side for anything, the worry that as soon as he did he'd miss something. it was a terrifying experience and not one he'd wish on anyone, nor would he want to deal with ever again-- and yet here he was.
jina had that same look on her face, insoo could see himself in her. the mission had hit many of them in different ways, his friends were set up in a makeshift medic ward, their loved ones glued to their sides when they were allowed. he wasn't entirely sure how the other medic agents still up and running were dealing with visitors, but insoo didn't have the heart to tell jina to leave. she wasn't in the way and kind of did him a favour keeping an eye on the group of injured agents while he tended to other stuff at the small setup in the corner.
"hey," he called out to her quietly, moving to touch her arm gently after. "you're basically living here, i'm sure you're getting restless by now--" he gestured to the work he had at his desk. "want to keep your hands busy a bit?"
The Innocent Bystander
with @miajina
It was well known within the agency that Theo had a temper, one that he couldn't control. He's been trying so very hard to control it, but when the right buttons are pressed his enhancement gets out of control along with his anger. The demon agent had just been minding his own business, just sitting in the longue and scribbling some sketches on a notepad when another agent came in. He doesn't bother to look up from his notepad. If they don't address him, he won't address them and peace in the room can be kept. They can both just go about their business without any issues, that's what he was hoping for anyway. It seemed like he was going to get the peace he has been craving for, until a couple of minutes later another agent made their way to the lounge. Theo did his best not to let out a groan. He had just wanted to spend time on his own and now he was sharing the space with two other people. There's a soft frown on his lips as he tries to ignore the two agents with him, but the newcomer seems to not want to keep to themselves. Theo's eyes shift from his notepad when the other agent addresses him, his frown turning into a scowl and his gaze quickly turning into a glare. The agent went on, speaking of a mission he had got back from, moving closer to Theo, invading his space. They speak about how many of his kind he killed. Gripping tightly at the pencil and notepad objects in the room started to shake slightly as Theo clenches his jaw and tries to keep his temper down. He hates being compared to the demons out in the field. He's not like them, they're not his kind. Theo is not some sort of monster or a ticking time bomb just waiting to kill everyone. It's the phrase of Don't worry, I won't kill you, yet. That sends Theo off the deep end. Aside from seats and tables, the items in the longue start flying everywhere. Hitting the walls, colliding with other objects, being sent towards the antagonizing agent, Theo couldn't control what flew or where it flew, but one thing he completely forgot about was that the two agents were not alone, the was a forgotten third in the room.
it’s always been you || @miajina
it feels like forever since hyunwoo's seen jina. in reality, he's seen her, but they haven't been able to do much. with the whole mess that was the last mission and its aftermath, not being paired up with her during training week at all was a pretty big let down. maybe he was being too clingy but he missed her even though he could physically see her. he'd tried his best to do things to cheer her up and support her during the time jinseo was stuck in the med wing-- witnessing her running herself ragged hurt him in ways that he wasn't sure he was ready to look at.
although, after a week without some dedicated time with one of his closest friends, maybe he's more ready than he thought; the time away from her acting as some sort of catalyst. somewhere in his mind he knows this is something more than caring for a friend, his feelings push a little further, a little deeper. maybe he's always known deep down, maybe he's just coming to terms with it now because he's experienced just the hint of a what his days would be without her-- his life isn't bad, not at all, but it's always better with her at his side.
after his somewhat mini heart crisis, hyunwoo decides the last bonfire he should probably talk things through with her. he's self aware enough to know he wears his heart on his sleeve and always makes sure to be as honest as he can-- jina's the type to pick up on anything he hides from her, disturbing many birthday ideas. it's something he appreciates about her.
it's hard to smuggle the little plant without gaining looks but he somehow makes it out alive. hyunwoo had initially been saving it as a birthday gift, but he could always figure something else out. it'd been a lucky find on one of his scavenging adventure trips, a cute little succulent surviving on it's own under a fallen board. he knew immediately that it would have to come home with him no matter what.
it's easy to pick jina out in the crowd, despite the sun resting low on the horizen. there's fires up already and the glow works beautifully with the natural fading light the sun gives as it disappears. even without everything else, jina glows like no other.
"jina!" he drags out her name as he calls out from across the field. he doesn't yell too loud but he knows it's enough for her to pick up on-- in a crowd of the whole agency, he knows they'd always hear each other. he waves with a bright smile, face heating up as he gets closer and eyes who is around her. "mind if i steal you for a minute?" hand tucked still behind his back, holding precious cargo, he offers his other elbow for her to take.

it's too nice of a day to not take advantage of it; sun shining in a way that could almost fool you into thinking the world is healing-- like there wasn't just a devastating war, like kaiser and his newly invented superdemons aren't out there somewhere doing god knows what.
maybe in some ways, it is, though. they won; they are building a new home and agency that will eclipse seaside in its brilliance.
jj believes this, but he'd believe it more if they let him help more with the building process. he's still fresh on the scene as far as agents go, being promoted to one shortly before the fall of the former agency, so some of the older agents don't value his opinions as much as he thinks they should. he's mind enhanced, for god's sake; this is his forte. who cares if taking too many measurements and dimensions in his mind gives him a terrible headache after too long? psh, that's nothing.
still, today, he's content to enjoy the sunshine and mostly-fresh air, even if he's not allowed to stray too far from the construction site. it's not like that ever stopped him before, but today he's with jina, and he's pretty sure she would never go for a walk through the dangerous city with him.
even when he's trying to relax, jj still isn't the best at staying still for long, and jina is pretty new to whatever they're calling the remnants of seaside, so he proposed they spar, carefully, because they don't have protective gear and jinseo or someone else will probably kill jj if jina happened to get hurt because of him-- not that jina isn't capable of hurting him.
it would appear what's most realistic is jj injuring himself, because somehow, when he dodges one of jina's attacks, his foot lands on a rock or something, and he tumbles backwards, landing on his back in the grass. he lays there for a moment, more confused than hurt, but he squints with one eye and wrinkles his nose regardless.
from here, he can so clearly see the rising walls of meia against the backdrop of the blue sky, and, "fuck, that beam looks really off from here."
