NEW MURAL BY ESPO IN MIAMI [@steveESPOpowers]

Stephen “ESPO” Powers finished up his latest mural recently in Miami. The legendary street Artist/sign painter was poet-in-residence at The Carlton Hotel, and was given a large blank wall to do what he’s best at. A lot of what he wrote was about “the everyday life of the hotel, and what people get from the hotel experience.”

Miami Murals

The Wynnwood neighborhood in central Miami used to be just a normal warehouse district until renowned community revitalizer Tony Goldman got a hold of it in 2009. "Wynnwood's large stock of warehouse buildings, all with no windows, would be my giant canvases to bring to them the greatest street art ever seen in one place."

I had heard about the resulting outdoor mural park called Wynnwood Walls, but I didn't realize that the *entire* neighborhood would also be covered in murals and graffiti art. Every blank space is filled with color, even the sidewalks and streets have become open canvases. It is a neighborhood that has come to life from artistic expression, where it is so welcomed that it feels like anyone can add their mark.

We slowly wondered through the park and around the neighborhood on foot and then enjoyed some delicious ceviche.
