there’s a peacefulness that comes with sitting at the bar of the infamous stardust—an area so neglected by their usual clientele, that it was a sanctuary to a man too tired to play his usual role & was in need of a drink. desperately. it was the burden he had decided to carry, he reminded himself. the weight of an entire generation resting upon broad shoulders & relying on his ability to bring the jingweon mafia even forward to a new epoch. it was far from easy, & he knew that would be the case from the very beginning, but alas, it was fate he had chosen upon adopting the name of joon-gi han. his whole persona, crafted into a being that was a beacon of hope to many—a concept to be followed through generations to come. he was more an ideal than he was a man, & while heavy was the head that wore the crown, his mortality remained.
he’d not be remembered for who he was, but for whom he became. such were the kind of thoughts that plagued his night on this evening. the uncertainty of his future; the stress of not meeting high expectations that he had set upon himself. the sound of ice cubes hitting the glass at least brought him to this present day, & it’s then, that he notices something was out of place.
or in this instance, someone.
his body turns on his stool to face the intruder, scanning him from head to toes before glancing to the side, to the entrance. how strange for iseul to miss somebody at the door, especially someone with such a noticeable attribute to them as it was the eyepatch adorning otherwise slim face. perhaps, without it, the man could’ve fooled him for a little longer, but as the situation unfolded, hiding seemed to be far from his intention.
“—sneaky, aren’t you?” his tone, too calm & collected to even allude that to be a possibility right now. while it was against the rules of establishment, in the end, it was the owner who had a said on what would happen to trespassers. his interested piqued at the sight of money, but not for the reasons the other may think. the bill is given just a glance before looking back up to the man. “what’s your excuse to be here?”
