‘She knows, Jen.’ The text that had her heart sinking and her breaths coming in shallow gasps. The text that kept her up all night with racing thoughts and the weight of guilt pressing on her chest. It changed everything and the last thing Jenny wanted to do was face the consequences. How could she face her best friend knowing that she’d knowingly kept this from her? Her face crumpled up in a wince as she made her way to Mia’s door, rasping her fist against the wood. The two didn’t have the easiest friendship and Jenny wasn’t eager to admit to a mistake in front of her, but Mia was nothing if not loyal. Perhaps she could help, so she swallowed her pride and hung her head as she waited for the door to swing open. @miaxcs
