in the show she isnt /really/, at least one person wrote her as gay and was disappointed that it didnt really turn out as explicit as she wanted ( in part because it was a kids show in the 80s but mostly because of the costume (read: fursuit) on one of the characters made the character acting difficult to read and therefore not as gay). the books and radio shows ditched that and gave her like a dozen hetero relationships which is homophobic towards me personally
like 20 something years later that writer who made her gay is coming back to write for the first openly lesbian lead in the show, bill potts, so thats good
tldr ace mcshane isnt straight fuck the english government
but at the end of the day you were just something they'd blame
