Disneyland Update: This and That
Pixar Fest continues . . . so now red, white & blue bunting this year.
This new abominable snowman plush is really cute. He’s at the little kiosk on the parade route near Matterhorn and Small World Mall. If you buy 2 they are $20 each.

Disneyland Update: Pixar Pier Prepares for Opening
Construction equipment is being moved, walls are rapidly being removed, queues painted, landscaping is going in, and the generally chaotic looking Pixar Pier will soon be orderly and open to guests . . . at least we hope so.
In the atrium of the Lamplight Lounge (former Avalon Cove), a most unusual lantern has appeared. It is affixed with sketch art of Pixar characters.
The new bandstand, which will host the Pixarmonic Orchestra, is also coming together . . .
And the former Mickey’s Fun Wheel, now to be called the Pixar Pal-A-Round is also complete with a new sign and yellow awning.
One area that looks like it might not make the deadline is Bing Bong’s candy shop. The facades have not been fully installed and there are still construction fences around the area.
There’s a lot to be done in the next 7 days.

Well, it definitely looks better than I thought it would! The Cove Bar revamp in particular looks interesting, but I’m a film person who enjoys all those behind-the-scenes tid-bits. I’m still not happy about them essentially taking the California out of California Adventure all in the name of cross-promoting franchises; what do you guys think?

Disneyland Update: Pixar Pier
Rumors persist that World of Color is having technical difficulties. And although the show is still listed as returning this Friday, there are reports that those with dining packages have been offered refunds as the show may not be in operation this weekend.
Disney has revealed some concept art for the billboards of the boardwalk (located just past Adorable Snowman).
The Pixar Pier Promenade bandstand has been painted.
The new Pixar Ball water feature has been installed and an Imagineer was busy rolling it around and testing it. Like the one in Tomorrowland, the ball rides on a high-pressure jet of water which allows guests to spin it.
All of Pixar Pier has been closed to the public, including Knick’s Knacks and Adorable Snowman, while the final touches are put on the project. Construction walls have mostly been removed, the Pixar Pal-A-Round is testing, signage is being installed, paint is going up on the bandstand, the Pixar ball is rolling on a column of water, and the Lamplight Lounge is preparing for its first guests later this week.
Just a few days ago it looked like the project wouldn’t be finished in time . . . and there’s obviously still a LOT of work to be done . . . it’s still a nailbiter, but it’s looking more promising by the day.

The “Pier” has been removed from the Golden Zephyr sign. It will likely be replaced by the word “Park” which is what this side of the Pier will be called when it’s done “Paradise Park.”

It's 5 days and counting for Pixar Pier's big reveal. Disney's summer offering will launch with a special ticketed event on Friday, then opens to the public on Saturday. We have a few new details for you along with some Disneyland items including the Adventureland project and Star Wars land construction.
Disneyland Update: A New Tropical Hideaway
With the Aladdin walls and tower now removed, it’s looking a lot more Tiki on the East side of Adventureland.
Some construction scrims have been added to the exit area of Jungle Cruise, including the upstairs queue. But this is just to keep us from taking photos. Nothing to see here . . . move along.

I think this is a slam dunk idea. Adventureland needs the extra space and more food (I love you Bengal Barbeque, but I can eat only so many skewers!). I can’t wait to see what food they put there, and it’ll be cool to watch the Jungle Cruise boats pass by. What do you guys think?
