Michael Freimuth | Proximity magazine's branding creatively directed and designed by Michael Freimuth is a treat. The logo and it's uses across the magazine cover and collateral is clever and beautiful crafted. The use of classic black and white makes room for the art to stand out supported by well set typography. Michael Freimuth is a designer, art director and illustrator based in New York. He currently works at Sagmeister Inc. as well as doing freelance work. Michael is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.
A Chicago based art journal providing an alternative review of contemporary art and culture, Proximity strives to unearth and map under-represented artistic endeavors in all locations an localities. The magazine, it's accompanying brand collateral and the "city guides" were created as a larger cohesive identity for the independent publication's North American and European distribution.
