(Would DNF this but I still read on. It was a struggle really; I mean it was just plain uneventful and maybe this just reminds me a bit of Twilight? Vampires and werewolves, love triangles, etc. But it is different too. Michael deserves more and damn, finally he is a werewolf. Celine is just whiny and Bastien is hot but plain? The cliffhanger makes me want to read the next book just out of plain curiosity.)

I just finished reading The Damned by Renee Ahdieh and it was so good.
I was so shocked by the ending; reading that Odette died made me hate Emilie. At first, I felt bad for her because of what Nicodemus did but then reading that she planned for Nigel to kill Bastien I started to hate her. But what she did to Odette sealed my hate.
I got like Twilight vibes when Michael called Bastien a leech and then having Bastien and the others call the wolves mongrel. I found it weird that Michael was playing along with what Celine thought happened to her, but then it made more sense that even though Michael did not inherit the curse, he still knew what was going on.
It broke my heart how Michael loves Celine so much that he was willing to kill his sister-in-law, and instead accidentally killed his cousin. Michael deserves to be happy.
If anyone knows the answer can they tell me what it is; If Emilie is n longer able to be the Alpha, would that mean that Michael is now the Alpha of the New Orleans pack?
