Speaking of Michael Jenkins, he made these three naval works in 1988-89. They're a sailor's dress shoes and hat in shadowbox frames, on top of wool blanket material. They didn't sell at auction in 2018. Jenkins was one of several artists in the 1980s and 90s who made minimalist-inflected work with psychological, emotional, and queer content. Then he became a dealer instead.
