There are big plans for band, Tigereye, they are playing at Angels and Kings, a bar owned by Fall Out Boy’s, Pete Wentz. And, they are also in the studio recording their first album that will be available on iTunes.
Tigereye is made up of four members, Samantha LaRosa being the only female in the band. But LaRosa likes being the only female stating that she finds it very interesting especially since she finds men and women very similar. “The band treats me as a fellow person, and not like a "girl." We communicate very well together and goof around like old friends.” The band finds great chemistry in being together for five months.
The music and lyrics come together by LaRosa and Michael Wall and drummer Michael Korb goes along with the energy they create by having a very open and organic process.
Recently, Tigereye has increased their airplay, having several radio stations like: 94.3 and 90.1 play their music. Tigereye has also played Crash Mansion, a New York City club home of Fearless Music, a Fox Channel television program. LaRosa says the opportunity was a great way to connect with fans and become absorbed with the energy of the music. LaRosa states that a melody will often just unexpectedly come to here; drawing inspiration from her subconscious, "They come from the etherworld and invite me in and with that, I wish to invite others.”
LaRosa's musical influences are a combination of several musical acts-Muse, Radiohead and Metric. LaRosa's inspiration continues to come from truth, and their individual feelings about the world and the state that it is in. LaRosa finishes by saying, “I always think it's important for people to know why people are playing music in the first place… my greatest hope is that it can give me the outlet to make a greater change in society, whether it is for justice or uplifting somebody’s spirit.”
