Michael Lassel, 🇷🇴

Michael Lassel first began painting abstractly in Romania and then turned to surrealism. Since 1989 he has been one of the painters of Trompe-l'œil/Réalité, also called Trompe-l'œil de chevalet, a movement that was founded in France in 1955 as a modern variant of Trompe-l'œil. He paints still lifes in the old master style. Michael Lassel's pictures have already been shown in several exhibitions worldwide, especially in Germany but also in Paris.

Michael Lassel is the only Romanian painter who exhibited at the British Museum, London – the Babylon Exhibition – Myth and Reality / 2008 – 2009 – and who has been elected to the Autumn Salon Society in Paris since 1992.
