For the sentence starter prompts: Buck/Tommy + "You're safe now", please
"You're safe now." + Bucktommy
"Evan?" Tommy breathed out the last of the air in his lungs to say his name. It fell out like a whisper, a prayer, a disbelief to what he was seeing. His vision shifted as his whole body went numb from the back of his neck to the tips of his fingers.
He swayed in the open air like a tree branch held on by the last tendons of the bark, too weak to bend up to its full glory. Bruises and cuts littered across his torso and there was a puddle beneath him that Tommy didn't even want to know what it could possibly be.
Evan lifted his head, lulling against his bicep like it was the only way to keep it up as if the muscles in his neck were completely wasted away.
Evan's eyes opened. Well, one eye opened and even that was a herculean feat that seemed to take what little energy he had left. The other eye was swollen shut, bruised and caked with streaks of blood and tears that cut through the dirt on his cheek.
Evan blinked at him once, twice, before the muffled sound of a sob fell through the gag between his teeth.
The sound bolted through Tommy like a lance, spearing through him until he was certain there was a hole in his chest cavity.
"Evan!" Tommy stumbled into a run, his exhausted muscles screaming at him to give in. He didn't. He pushed himself down the ramp and onto the dirty cellar floor as fast as his legs would carry him.
His boot caught the edge of a warped, moldy 2x4 shattered to pieces and adrift from the rest of the piles surrounding them.
He lurched forward before nearly faceplanting."Shit!"
Evan let out another sob, tugging on his restraints held high over his head as his knees knocked against one another as he swayed.
Ghosts of industry littered the floor in piles of wood, metal, and forgotten garbage, but the sound of the chain rattling with Evan's weight was going to haunt Tommy for the rest of his life.
"I've got you," Tommy said, wrapping his arms around Evan's waist and trying not to panic at the frigid chill radiating off Evan's skin. Evan keened as he flinched but Tommy followed after him."Hey! Hey, it's okay. I've got you. You're safe now."
Evan's body barely even twitched even as he tried to yank his hands free from the hook holding his arms up.
"Howie! Eddie!" Tommy shouted over his shoulder, his voice turning into a croak that still echoed throughout the concrete alcoves behind him. "I've got him! I've got him! He's alive!"
A sudden knot formed in Tommy's throat he couldn't swallow past as he lifted Evan up to alleviate some of the pressure on his arms.
Evan cried out, either in relief or in agony or maybe both, as he sagged in his bonds.
"He's..." Tommy blinked past the burn but all it managed to do was release a tear he couldn't stop as he felt Evan's frantic breathing against his cheek. "He's alive."
But what little grasp on his emotions he had vanished as he saw the chains wrapped around Evan's ankles, his bare feet dirty and bruised and blue from the cold and abuse.
Those bastards hadn't even given him a chance.
"Th-omph-y." A hiccuped whimper fell from Evan through the rag and Tommy didn't know how to get the gag off without letting him fall onto his arms again.
"I know," Tommy said, his muscles starting to shake from the exertion. "I know, baby. I've got you. Just hold on. Let me just..."
He squinted up through the darkness and what little light was available at Evan's hands and tried not to scream in rage at the way Evan's fingers twitched and trembled like he barely had feeling in them anymore.
"See if you can..." Tommy stopped and wrapped his arms more securely around Evan's waist before he let out a groan and lifted him higher. Evan mewled out another pained noise but he got the idea as quickly as Tommy had had it and tried to wriggle his bound hands over the curve of the hook. All it managed to do was have Evan wriggle in Tommy's arms but he held on tight and gasped out encouragements as they got closer. "That's it! That's it, Evan. You're— You're almost... there!"
The full weight of Evan sent Tommy crashing to the ground with him in his arms but he squeezed as tight as he could and took the impact of the fall.
"I got you!" Tommy gasped even as his whole body lit up with a lightning storm in every one of his joints. "I got you!"
The sound of boots slapping against the ground echoed through the tunnel just as Evan's breath hitch and he began to cry.
Buck? Eddie? Unhealthy relationship? GIVE ME.
