Posted @withregram • 👑@michaelbaisdenlive My journey began in 1995 when I self-published my first book, Never Satisfied: How & Why Men Cheat, Men Cry In The Dark and The Maintenance Man Part 1 & 2, and 3 other books. I never imagined my destiny would lead me to hosting two TV shows, Talk Or Walk and Baisden After Dark, two stage plays, Men Cry In The Dark (Starring Richard Roundtree) and The Maintenance Man (starring Billy Dee Williams) hosting the largest afternoon urban radio show in history, and leading protests like The Jena 6 and Trayvon Martin, not to mention being instrumental in electing the first black President. But during these past 26yrs I also began to rethink many social constructs, like religion and relationships. It’s easy to go along with social norms rather than think for yourself, do your own research, and create new paradigms. It’s scary, I know, stepping outside of what people expect of you, and dealing with all the judgement and jealousy. Just remember, they’re not attacking you because you’re different, they're attacking you because they don't have the courage to change! Dare to be different! It’s hard in the beginning but if you're true to yourself you’ll create an amazing life!
