     there she is  –  his slick - wristed monster ,  shimmering in the pale winter light .  his breath unfurls in steamy clouds ,  expression balanced between grin  &  scowl ,  both frustrated   &  amused .  the heartbeats where he holds his tongue are the most telling ones .  where his eyes roam over her once ,  twice ,  along the slippery lines of her to linger on her pretty mouth ,   &   he doesn’t know what to do with the filmy desire to take her jaw between his chill - bitten palms   &   kiss her till all the air runs out .  swallowing hard ,   sasayama sets his shoulders wide  &  firm .   she’ll pull him under with that soft mouth ,  those big eyes .   a man could lose himself in both .   step into the lake willingly ,   &   expose his throat .   he has done both ,   tensed for the kiss   &   the bite .  ready to be eaten alive .   the question lingers somewhere in the heaviness of his gut ,   would you let her ?   &   always ,  always ,  he lies to himself .  no .   no .   no .
