New book about how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle invented Sherlock Holmes by David Sims. We know Doyle's med school prof-Dr. Joseph Bell was a big influence on the character of Sherlock, along with the writings of Edgar Allen Poe. Doyle even thought he took the famous line " When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth" from Poe!
