Micheal Wolf 

Born in 1654 in Munich, Germany. He died in April, 2019 aged 64. He was German but raised in the US.

His work was mainly focused of the daily lives of people in the city. His career began in 1994 working as a photojournalist for a magazine in Hong Kong but he soon decided to stay with fine art photography projects.

Very inspirational book by Michael Wolf. Since I am considering self-publishing a photo book, I started to have a look at some works in order to gain a little insight as to how photographs can be coherently presented in a book. 

In this case, “Micheal Wolf has been documenting the claustrophobic misery of the Tokyo Subway for over fifteen years, capturing the necessary discomfort suffered on the daily commute to work, on an underground transport network that is overworked and carries 11 million passengers daily. One might say that Wolf’s view comments that of a home-grown photographer like Hiromi Tsuchida, in that it is concerned with a collective view of an aspect of society, except that Wold accomplishes this by focusing upon individuals, albeit individuals, in particular, singulars situations.”
