Blind As A Bat

I am almost a nocturnal animal.

Maybe that's why

I struggle so much to see you around;

I guess that's why

whenever I see you,

you're all I see.

God-like shine

to my mortal body.

Overwhelming passion

for my heart of lamb.

The most beautiful eyes you've got,

to teach me

there are eyes worth looking at.

I saw you for the first time

and knew,

I didn't need to look at someone else

to be sure I'd never witness such magical beauty again.

Don't feel sorry if you blind me;

don't run, as I need your vitamin.

Don't keep your distance:

Burn me all you want.

Consume me with

your desire

until I no longer

see myself.

Until my insanity

no longer bothers me.

Until the mad dog

inside me

gets used to

the tenderness.

Hold me until

the flames burning

me up cease to.

Swallow me whole

before I do it

to myself.

I think people who purposely point out someone's insecurities are real losers. Because it takes a specific kind of emptiness to look at someone's soft spot and decide that's exactly where you want to push. That's not confidence. That’s just someone showing you how little they think of themselves by how little they think of you.
