I realized sherlock was bad when the big reveal was that an art forger had painted a supernova into a fake Vermeer painting that didn't appear in the sky until centuries later. A) What would have induced Vermeer to perfectly replicate the goddamn night sky when it would have completely changed by the time he got to the other side of the canvas, B) how tf would sherlock know the positions of stars as seen in 1600's Delft from a goddamn painting, C) boo steve moffat we hate you.

it was all bad i think my favorite phenomenon is everyone who was a fan realizing Something was bad and then going back and normally when u go back u can pinpoint when things started getting bad but when u go back ur just like o. no actually. it was always bad i just had brainworms and didn’t realize it. fuck u moffat

Hi Bunj, I have an animal welfare question. There's this museum nearby with a small aquarium & reptile room, and in my opinion both are *too* damn small. There are geckos/snakes that have been in the same shoebox-sized containers for ten years, and a tortoise that's kept in a 2-foot high enclosure with no water, grass or anything to look at except the small glass pane we peer through. There is no natural light in these rooms, either. What animal welfare group can I contact? Thanks.

you might want to start by looking for reputable herp owner groups in your area on facebook or other forum sites, and then ask them. good luck!

Your take on the snyder supes is utterly correct. Superman does not struggle with finding meaning or importance in human life, and it was wrong of man of steel to portray him that way. That said, I have my doubts as to whether henry cavill could've pulled off the selfless, christopher reeves-esque do-gooder we know and love. What do you think?

Sending this bc your tma posts are interesting and I've wanted to talk about it--I'm just so taken with the notion that there are Fears that appeal to your specific ethical weak spots (ie a violent person being drawn to the hunt; a bored bully being drawn to the lightless flame) and Fears that will catch you if you're too open and vulnerable to them (that guy who was afraid of the dark getting beaten up by the spidery void thing). I wonder what determines whether you'll be a victim or avatar?

i imagine for the fears it’s like eating a fruit versus planting it: will what i get from this harvest outweigh the loss of it now? how much fear can this one feel? how much can it make others feel? a victim is a meal; an avatar is a garden. 

for the (former) humans, i think it depends on your motivation. are you scared, or are you hungry? victims are straightforward: trap a claustrophobe in a tunnel and you’ll eat your fill. avatars, on the other hand, are drawn to their fears for wish fulfillment. it’s love, but it’s also something deeper and hungrier than love: don’t you want to run / fall / feast / know / hide / be held / control / slip away / kill / be alone / be surrounded / burn / lie / close your eyes? what would you become if you let go? what’s hiding in the depths of your soul? maybe you’re scared, but not of it. you’re scared of what you’ll be when you finally get what you’ve always wanted.
