#Michter's 10yr has been evading me for the last couple of years. I have heard how great a pour it was in past vintages for quite some time. I was glad that my local watering hole finally got a bottle for me to test drive. On the nose, brown sugar, caramel, and vanilla pour out of the glass. The sweet baking spices make their self well known. There is a bit of eucalyptus, and mint coming through in the back end. On the tongue there is a sweet intro, before the oak starts to assert itself. Vanilla is right up front but it's short. The oak takes over quickly and that sappy, oily texture takes over. It has a medium body, but doesn't really match the nose for complexity. The oak leads you to a medical astringent feel that's short and hot. On the follow through its cereal, and rye bread with a bitter finish from the wood. The finish is slightly off putting, and this bourbon lack balance. I added a little water and it seemed to thin this one out and aggravate it. This is a miss for me. I had little expectations going in and it was still a let down.
