I feel bad for Matthews, a decent man who, like Bobby Bowden and perhaps now Frank Beamer, found himself swallowed by the expectations his success created.

JMU Is 'Open To Adding QB,' Already Heard From '10-14' Potential Transfers

At the end of the 2010 season, JMU had four quarterbacks on its roster (not including R-Fr. Dae'Quan Scott, who's listed as a WR but played the final two games at QB). 

Drew Dudzik, a R-Sr., is gone, but the Dukes will still have Scott in 2011, as well as Justin Thorpe returning from his knee injury (he'll be a R-Jr. next year), and rising sophomores Kevin Seaton and Jace Edwards. And there's also Henry Hunter, a 6-1, 205 pound player from Texas who was a first-team All-District 10 5A QB.

But all that is apparently not enough depth for JMU and coach Mickey Matthews. 

JMU coach Mickey Matthews said he's heard from 10-14 potential Division I-A transfers, including QBs. JMU is open to adding a transfer QB.
