Operation Rescue Mid-Autumn at #SCCCMidAutumn
To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, The Singapore Chinese Cultural Center held its grand celebrations this Saturday, featuring various arts and craft workshops, performances, and heritage trails.
One of the main highlights of the day is a mass escape activity called Operation Rescue Mid-Autumn where participants will need to overcome various obstacles in order to rescue the Mid-Autumn Festival. The challenges include riddles, archery, chemistry, mathematics, and arts and craft, making it fun and accessible for the whole family.
Here’s a quick look at Operation Rescue Mid-Autumn where I team up with my sister, mum, and two nieces to overcome the obstacles within three hours:
1st Challenge: Solving lantern riddles scattered around the ground floor in order to receive a bow and arrow to shoot down the sun like Hou Yi in order to receive a mysterious candle.
2nd Challenge: Deciphering the symbols based on the legend of Chang-E so as to gain access to the elixir chamber to create our very own magical portion in order to receive another mysterious candle.
3rd Challenge: Finding the hidden message in the mooncakes and creating our own hidden message in order to receive the third and final mysterious candle.
4th Challenge: Creating our magical lantern in order to shine the way to a secret room hidden within the building.
Final Challenge: Decode the location of the hidden secret room using the three mysterious candles received from the previous challenges, and use our magical lantern to shine the way to rescue the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Operation Rescue Mid-Autumn is a fun, interactive way for kids to learn about the stories behind the festival and I am proud that my nieces were able to participate actively in the challenges to complete the game within three hours.
