To the little middle eastern lady who came in my store today: Im sorry i could not communicate better with you. I could tell you were nervous about how i was going to react to you telling me sorry, only speak arabic, and i could see how anxious you were throught your transaction. Im sorry i didnt know you were trying to tell me you wanted to wait and see if you could afford that last dress you had me put aside. You were very patient with me and my pointing to everything. I hope i didnt come across as rude and in a hurry; it was quite the opposite. I wanted you to take your time trying to communicate with me. You know what did make me upset though? The fact you only knew how to say “im sorry” in English. That broke my heart. How cruel are we, that the one thing you wanted to make sure you knew was to apologize for everything? I know you arent ever going to see this, but i hope you had a lovely day, and those dresses you bought will look wonderful on you.
