hey everyone! my name is ana and i’ll be playing this new babe of mine, who is just too relatable honestly. you can read her BIOGRAPHY (and a few headcanons) and her WANTED CONNECTIONS but i’ll leave a little rundown on her below the read more. i hope you like her as much as I do! put up in the system right after being born because her parents were young and didn’t want a kid. she says it didn’t faze her but it did a lil bit. 

she always felt out of place growing up; her train of thought and the way she processed things wasn’t the same as the kids around her and so she became alienated from a young age. she got used to that and so she just learned how to be on her own. 

got adopted when she was five. has a good relationship with her adoptive parents and siblings (she has two), at least in her opinion. 

she was seven, almost eight, when the school decided to look into having her skip a few grades for her own good. they tested her IQ and made a few other tests to make sure it was the best for her. she skipped two grades. 

she was the smartest person in any room she was in, surrounded by people older than her, and that contributed more to her isolation, though she wasn’t a loner. she sometimes just preferred to be by herself.

her adoptive parents were so proud of her and began mapping out the path she ought to take to make the most out of the brain she had. while she appreciated it and knew they were doing it because they loved her, it began putting a lot of pressure on her. 

eventually, that pressure and her anxiety began taking a toll on her and she decided to drop out of college. when she made that decision she was ashamed and cut ties with her friends, hating the idea of having to talk about it and explain why she dropped out. 

has been back in wade for a year and has just kept to herself, doing stuff to keep her from dying of boredom and just avoiding any social confrontation about her decision to become a college dropout.

THE REAR WINDOW... shiloh ann harrington

Hope everyone is as STOKED as I am! I’ve just finished Shiloh’s dossier which includes some stats and bullet point headcanons for a quick overview, that can be found here ! I also have her full biography, which can be found here ! Lastly, I’ve made a few lil edits and whatnot which can be found in her muse tag here !  I’m going to spend some time reading everyone’s introductions and bios, so I’ll be around! I’m also keeping an eye on the discord but if I’m being honest it’s a lot easier to message me personally because I usually get Lost in the Sauce™ in big chat rooms.

Shiloh is a C.O.D.A., meaning a Child Of Deaf Adults. She herself is 100% hearing, but sign language was her first language while spoken English was her second, learned mostly through television in her early years. Neither of her parents had hearing aids and communicated solely through sign.

Her mother lives in an assisted living community that Shiloh pays for– her health has been on a slow and steady decline since her husband’s death, and Shiloh visits at least once a week because she worries about her mother’s lack of translator.

Earned a bit of a “witch-like” reputation around town. She rarely leaves home ( usually only to shop for plants and groceries ) and never says more than she has to. While it’s mostly only used as a juvenile taunt every now and again she’ll hear it said with a little more malice.

is A Helper. Shiloh gets a lot of joy from fixing things and finding solutions to problems. She gives good advice and always from a neutral standpoint.

Shiloh is more Awkward.™  than she is completely anti-social. Going along with the phrase “you can’t miss what you never had,” she doesn’t long for friendships as much as she just feels curious for them. What would it be like to go out drinking? What would it be like to talk with someone for hours at a time? She has no idea, and she doesn’t know where to start.

Dedicated plant mom of many, of course. She let the plants outgrow her mother’s greenhouse in an attempt to rid the house of her father’s presence.

Shiloh attended public school until around the 10th grade, when she decided to switch to online courses and began to excel with technology.

As mentioned, Shiloh is a web programmer but also has an interest in the mechanics of her tech. Meaning she likes to build computers and devices in her free time.

Never developed a taste in music (or much media at all), so she listens to everything and doesn’t know how to discern what she likes from what she doesn’t. Justin TimberBlake who? Is that in actor?

Prefers podcasts and audiobooks, and her favorite movies are usually silent black and white films.

Cleaning? What’s that? Despite being raised with military-like discipline, she doesn’t clean a thing unless she has to now that she owns the house. Shiloh would call it “organized chaos,“ although there really isn’t much organization to it.

went off to u of chicago for undergrad & medical school. right before her residency began back in wade, she went to a party with friends and was TW drugged, dragged out to the woods and raped. she doesnt remember much but she was never the same after that night.

came back to wade, became a huge germaphobe with control issues. her house is like scarily clean, all white furniture, no plants or greenery anywhere in sight. still managed to be a neurosurgeon (and rly damn good) bc its the one place where she feels like she has total control.

her personality is kind of molded after cristina yang but x 100000 so im sorry ahead of time for how rude she can be :((( she has a hard time connecting w people but the good news is im SUPER open to any weird/crazy ideas that could connect our chars so pls come at me!!!

so he took a peace corps teaching job in Colombia and discovered he loved teaching !! & that's what he does now ... he lived in Boston before wade but coincidentally Layla popped up there and they dated again briefly before it brought up all their shit again and so he had to get out and somehow found wade. now he’s a 12th grade english teacher and absolutely loves it. he’s been here for 5 years and feels pretty settled ((but deadass his mom calls him very week and asks if he’s met a girl which is cute))

BACKSTORY

born at home to a librarian turned stay-at-home mom, annette  &  highly respected priest, fergus.

once susie was old enough to properly understand words, sentences + meanings, strict rules were set in place. some of these rules included:

No talking to boys.

Keep your posture straight.

No swearing.

No staying up past 10pm.

Absolutely no sexual activity.

susie was an unexpected pregnancy that took a toll on her parent’s marriage. it started out slow  ; bickering about how fergus leaves the toilet seat up and whose turn it was to help with homework.

** & by age 12, susie had grown used to the sound of shattering plates and unexplained bruises her mother desperately tried to cover with concealer.

by the time she was 13, she had gotten bored of the same old routine. & in turn, this made her sneak out after curfew ... needless to say, she only got to break rules for 2 days before getting caught.

** for 2 weeks, no one saw her. she’d been excused from school, hadn’t contacted friends, and was never seen walking around town at all. it wasn’t until the 3rd week that susie slowly started to be seen but she was ... different.

there was also now an unexplained scar on the left side of her neck.

it took nearly a month for her to fully get back to the girl she used to be. & no one really knows what happened during the 2 weeks of her absence.

upon turning 18, she started to get bored again. but to prevent going missing for 2 weeks, she snuck her laptop into her room and started a cam girl account. susie figured it would be a good way to not only experience some sexual activity but she would also get money and attention  --  two things she very much felt deprived of.

to hide her identity, she bought a black bunny mask to wear during her shows as well as came up with an alias: peach.

at age 21, susie was ready to take her job to the next level. at that point, she had kept what she did a secret for 3 years. she had spent much of her free time practicing different dance moves to different songs and finally worked up the courage to audition.

she did the entire process in her bunny mask and with great surprise, had gotten the job that night!

was very negatively affected by the news of josie’s death. they’d been neighbours for all of susie’s life & her parents were rather close to the johnson family.

the now 24 year old is holding her own little investigation to try and figure out what the hell happened to josie... primarily so she has something to do with her time instead of just sitting inside watching time pass.

sure, it’s a morbid time passer. but at least it’s something.

the fam actually have a 2 year old golden retriever named honey! It was a gift to annette for her 47th birthday from Fergus and susie. susie absolutely adores her.

a brief summary of her story, just to get us started, can be found under the cut.

nora was raised by her father ; her mother passed when she was very young. he worked at a farm near the outskirts of town, and he sold items produced at the farm ( dairy, fruit, vegetables, etc. ) and other products ( live bait, gardening & fishing products ). now nora works at the farm and manages the shop too

she was always noticing the strange happenings ( the yes, wandering off as a kid, all the shebang ) but of course this was always dismissed & swept under the rug 

in high school, she was very average. there was nothing to distinguish her from her classmates other than the fact that she was very outspoken ( if anyone said something about her family then 🥊  🔔 👀 )

 her father was a very angry man ( he was wade’s mr. nebbercracker ) with underlying health issues. throughout his life, he was very hostile towards a LOT of people in town and as a result his and the family’s reputation was tainted

his death was super sketchy - no foul play suspected despite inexplicable blunt force trauma

when he was dead, the town didn’t question the discrepancies in the case. after he was buried ( there wasn’t even an open ceremony ; no one would attend ) nora felt super betrayed at those who’d stayed quiet. to this day, she believes there was some agreement between the townspeople and the coroner’s office so the case would be shut

now, she’s a bit of a recluse, but she hasn’t been entirely worn down by this resentment. yes she is still paranoid and afflicted, but she is still very kind and loyal, but she struggles to find the right people with whom to form connections.
