It's still WIP Wednesday for me so here is something
That voice. He had heard that voice before.
What devil’s gaze had fallen upon him?
“Hello,” Sebastian swallowed the sharp lump in his throat.
The man from his dreams opened his lids, and Sebastian could have sworn he must have died for his eyes were silvery, unfocused, but they were the very same that haunted him. “You should not be up here.”
Sebastian's mouth went dry, ice climbed his spine. “I didn't know anyone else lived here.”
“No one does,” the other man murmured. “Not truly.”
“I saw you…” Sebastian took a step forward. In my dreams, he wanted to say. “In the window,” is what he said instead.
A faint twitch of the lips, nearly missed but Sebastian couldn’t look away from him. “Did you?”
“I thought you were…” He stopped himself, heat flaring along his cheeks at his admission. “I thought you were a ghost.”
That earned him a quiet laugh, small, sad, hardly a sound at all. “You would not be the first.”
Sebastian had made it nearly to the window before he realized, the hair at the back of his neck prickled as he was drawn in by something he couldn’t name. The man didn’t flinch, though his shoulders tensed.
The man’s expression shifted, turning his head back towards the sound of rain. “Names are for those meant to be remembered.”
Sebastian frowned, his eyes traced over the scattering of moles on the others cheeks. “That isn’t an answer.”
“But, it’s the only one I can give.”
