LAYERS OF INFORMATION
I was reading an interview with Nile Rodgers and he talked about some advice that was given him that really blew my mind. So this...
Anyways... so in the interview he talked about his early career while he was writing songs for his band Chic and he said something really interesting.
Bernard [Edwards] would always say to me, "You've got four or five songs in that bad boy."
I haven't really thought of my music in that way before. I am not as good as Nile Rodgers but the idea that I could take something that I created break it down and get more meaning out of it is really exciting. That idea can translate in to other aspects of my life. In other projects that I am involved with I can ask myself if I am doing too much or how much can a small opportunity, like MCR-Radio, be developed. Speaking of exciting things...
