Relistening to The Paradise episode, which I usually skip when I re-listen to episodes from that season, and I forgot about Ava and Marguerite’s conversation regarding how the scope of “everything” expanded. So I guess the secret third thing is whatever the multiverse exists within, which would make sense in a way? Maybe? At least insofar as why Krok would be so afraid, this does not explain how or why a time gun would work on whatever the mysterious He is.
Parallel to that, Ava and Marguerite talked about the universes being interdependent, and in the end, The Diner™️ wasn’t outmoded like they initially thought. So this then begs the question of whether that confirms The Diner is important enough that it can’t be outmoded, or… whether there are now a handful of universes on the fritz because of Krok’s Garden of Contructs. Did those losses get compensated for? Do the buildings truly not move/travel if no one is inside, not even to pick up new passengers? Or did the little brother do something to free the diner that had nothing to do with Fiona’s presence in the deep freeze.
Also if all those (infinite) universes overlap and depend on one another, why would a franchise be necessary? Would a failure in one universe cascade like it does in any other system? It may be an infinite series of universes but The Diner travels ad infinitum. Are there infinite businesses in the franchise or like, a couple million?
And then there’s the bit about how all those universes “riff on each other” which implies a beginning and an end re: Ava and Marguerite’s chat. I’m not sure why that would imply an end, the multiverse is infinite as far as everyone knows, but a beginning is very much implied because Krok predates “the universe” (which I’m now taking to mean all universes because as soon as one sprang into existence, all of them did).
All of this to say, I think that confirms that MB is called the prime construct because it was the first. But why would that make it so important? What is so important about This Diner, and why did it matter to Krok. More importantly, who or what else does it matter to? And WHYYYYY. Is the multiverse expanding in such a way that its presence is no longer ignorable in the greater system it exists within? Is that the underlying reason Krok wanted it to be recursive.
There’s too much to hold in my head at any one given time in this show, truly a miracle that Joe Fisher has managed it for this long while circling back to the various things brought up from season to season.
