Can't believe it's been one whole month.
God I miss him so much
Our cat, Midnight Monster, passed away on December 23, 2024. He loved doing tarot readings with us. He'd rub his face against cards and we'd put those in the spread, and his readings were always bizarrely relevant. I've done a few readings since he passed to feel close to him, they've all been just as poignant. This is the one I did tonight, asking what to keep in mind in eventually getting a new cat.
When I read the descriptions out loud to my wife, they seemed to get it much faster than me. 1. Getting a new cat is starting a new chapter in our life. 2. This is exciting, it's new, it's not about replacing Midnight, it's about bringing in a new member of the family. 3. And of course, don't rush it.
One of our worries about adopting a new cat is that it would be all about Midnight. Replacing him, comparing the new cat to him, etc. This was a nice reminder that we cannot view it that way. This will be a completely separate being, and we will need to treat them as such with excitement and joy.
Idk. The readings I've been doing lately have felt especially like Midnight is rubbing his face on the cards. Thanks buddy, for looking out for us.
I wanna make a roast chicken soon but also it feels like what's the point in eating meat if I don't have a little fluffy guy to share it with :(
Best little guy 💔
My older brother sent me this pic he found on his phone 💕
Midnight is gone. He went very peacefully, eating a chicken and crab churu until he got too sleepy. We gave him lots of hugs and kisses. I miss him so much.
The perfect boy
