Midnightmask has always been known to wander, it was part of her adventurous nature. As an apprentice, she came across a queen and her kits. She had tried to help them but they all ended up passing away. She swore to never let anything like that happen again. It had left quite the mark on her.

While out, she came across Rootkit. Her snake had been tugging in one direction and Midnightmask decided to follow it. She quickly took the kitten back to camp. Midnightmask's mother, Riftheart, had recently had kittens, so any needs would be met by her. Pantherthorn and Lighttooth, her fathers, grew to like little Rootkit very quickly.

Midnightmask now often comes to visit her along with her baby brothers(Ryekit, Palekit, and Nightkit) and teach them about herbs. She often let's her snake play with them too.
