cis + white sapphics: do me a favor. scroll through tumblr, or reddit, or instagram, or wherever you see drawn/visual smutty wlw content. count the number of black and/or trans women that you see that are not masculinized—i.e., femme/submissive black and trans women. it doesn’t count if the dominant character (if present) is also black or trans.

white cis sapphic artists claim to feature diverse characters, and then consistently fetishize black, brown, and trans women as muscle-bound mascs or hulking dommy mommies who exist only to ravage and ravish petite, submissive, feminine cis white women. this reflects quite well the expectation that has been put upon me by cis white sapphics in the dating scene—i am always expected, as a black trans woman, to initiate, to pick up the tab, to be a gentleman.

cis white sapphics have a huge racism and transphobia problem, and it needs to be talked about more.

Unpopular opinion but clowning on white people for using the white emoji is like clowning on gay men for using the mlm flag. when minorities use special icons just for them, while the hegemonic group uses the “default”/“neutral,” the neutral option gets associated only with the hegemonic majority. See the simpsons (there are yellow people, brown people, and black people), or the pride rainbow flag 🏳️‍🌈 (which used to represent all queer people).
