Can I please request it was war, it wasn't fair x Eren for your event? Thank you very much!!
eren yeager x it was war, it wasn't fair
You hear him snort again while casually entering the kitchen for the nth time just to leave without getting anything, not even a glass of water. Eyes glued to your laptop screen and very much unimpressed, you keep your cool while replying to the endless emails filling your inbox, agile fingers traveling across the keyboard smoothly.
You're able to send two more replies before he enters the room again and basically throws himself at you, his whole body weight pressing on your back with his arms tied loosely around your neck. You don't even flinch, already focused on the next email.
“Oh my god, can you drop this?” Eren's groan comes out muffled as he has his face nestled in the crook of your neck, “I have apologized like a thousand times!”
“Please get off, you're heavy”
He perks up because the end of the silent treatment is always a step forward and he's willing to take any progress that comes his way at this point.
“So am I forgiven?” he catiously inquires, although your fingers still working on that infernal keyboard should be clear indicators of the answer he's about to get.
“No” the dry reply is enough to make him roll his eyes as he straightens up, defeated once again.
“You're being so fucking dramatic”
Eren detects that his carefully crafted ceasefire strategy is about to shatter on the very floor he's standing on as you stop typing and turn around in your chair to glare at him with narrowed eyes.
“Would you like me to take the dramatics one step forward and make you sleep on the couch? Or maybe you'd prefer Pieck's couch”
The amount of self-discipline he resorts to not to roll his eyes all the way to the back of his head again is honestly ungodly.
“Babe, this is getting ridiculous” he relies on a pout 'cause sometimes unexpected outcomes can stem from unexpected approaches and he's frankly willing to try anything cause it's almost dinner time and it's been five whole hours of this nonsense, “I'll pick you as a teammate next and we'll kick her and Porco's ass!”
You snort indignantly.
“Thanks, I'd rather cut my arm off than succumb to my boyfriend's pity”
“It's not pity. It's me telling you I love you enough to not care about winning” he knows he has used the wrong words as soon as they slip past his lips. To his shock, your gaze is capable of narrowing even further.
“It sure as hell didn't look like you loved me enough to not care about winning when you” a quick pause to dramatically lift one finger after the other to count “wanted Pieck in your team for five games in a row, cheered when she cut my road right when I was about to get the purple boost and kissed me to distract me enough to let her win”
With uncertain, pursed lips, Eren so badly wants to ask if you're more upset about losing (nothing unusual, for the record) or jealous of him picking one of your best friends as a teammate. He knows better, obviously, but the mere thought of small pangs of jealousy still existing in the face of all the years you've been together, can't help but boost his ego a little. His stomach flutters with pride and Eren is suddenly so glad he still gets to have these silly, playful, theatrical arguments with you.
“What are you smiling about?” you snap, disbelief freezing your features as he slips both arms under your armipts and lifts you up from your chair just to pull you into a forced hug, so tight your attempts at freeing yourself are more ridiculous than futile.
“Smiling 'cos you love me” you can barely understand him as his cheek is pressed to the curve of your shoulder. His hair is wet and you click your tongue in annoyance, although he smells so irritatingly nice.
“I don't, you're a cheat—” but Eren doesn't even give you the time to hurl the accusation as he clumsily drags you out of the room, stumbling all the way to the couch on which you both fall, his phone knocked over in the process, arms still tied impossibly tight around you and chest vibrating with mirthful laughter.
“Eren!” you whine, wiggling pathetically in the embrace.
“It was war, it wasn't fair” he has the nerve to giggle and you honestly wish he'd allow you to turn around just so you could flick his forehead.
“Really? That what you're gonna call Mario Kart 8? Stop squeezing—”
“Say that you love me” you jump as he unexpectedly nibbles at your jaw.
“Eren, it's gonna bruise!” you whimper, to which he only laughs harder.
“Say it!” he bites your neck next and you gasp in a new attempt to free your wrists from his hands.
“I love you, you dick!”
He finally lets go and you turn around to glare at him, one hand rubbing the sore spot on your neck. The glint in his gaze is both mischievous and familiar enough for you to roll your eyes in advance.

Hi :3 im so happy to see this event because this is such a genius idea! I love taylor and all her lyrics are just Ugh😩❤️
Would you mind writing for Rengoku with the prompt “all you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing” ? Just a fluff fic where he doesn’t die, instead got married and retired with reader, looking softly at his spouse to realise that the reader only wanted sweet nothings from him❤️
kyojuro rengoku x all you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing
request a character + prompt here :)
Kyojuro doesn't mind.
Even if you don't believe him, even if you protest each time he offers to carry the laundry basket, even if you roll your eyes as he lowers himself until he's basically sitting on his heels to offer his back whenever you're walking home and he thinks you might feel tired. He doesn't mind.
That's exactly the first thought that crosses his mind as soon as he wakes up at dawn, the back of his hand gently but barely grazing your forehead, worried crests between his furrowed brows soothing as he finds your skin cool. He's careful as he gets out of the futon you share and pays extra attention to the pressure used to close the shoji doors of your bedroom as he exists the room.
It's a quiet morning and he can hear the birds chirping outside. He decides he likes the way the kitchen changes color as hues of soft orange and pink bleed through the windows, reflecting on the ceramic bowls you had piled up the evening before. It's kinda hard, resisting the urge to hum while the rice leftovers are heating up and eggs, salt and sugar are being mixed in a larger bowl. He's not gonna go with elaborate dishes, can't risk making you sick again. The miso soup will keep you hydrated and hopefully soothe your nausea, soft rolled omelettes are your favorites and, well, rice is there just in case you're hungry enough to eat it.
You try your best to tiptoe to the kitchen, woken up and drawn to the heavenly scent of whatever is being cooked in there. You try, but of course he hears you anyway, taking a former hashira by surprise being literally (and practically) impossible.
“Hey”, your voice barely crawls out of your throat as sleep still refuses to peel off from it.
Kyojuro wishes he could turn around fully in your arms, which are around his waist as your forehead rests against his back, but he's too afraid of burning those eggs.
“How are you feeling, my love?”, he resorts to a less affectionate although momentary greeting.
“I'm fine”, you mumble, “what're you doing?”
Slender fingers holding purple chopsticks make the job of rolling and folding an omelette look embarrassingly graceful.
“Making breakfast, of course. Do you feel like eating? There's soup. I have also brewed green tea and cut a lemon, please add a slice to your cup. It will relieve your stomach”, his voice vibrates against your forehead and you have to close your eyes for a second, take his cedarwood scent in. It mixes well with the geraniums sitting next to the window, you find.
“Kyo, it's your rest day. You spend the entire week training young slayers and you haven't slept at all within the last two days. I should be making breakfast”, you complain, right before a loud and not at all elegant sneeze cuts you off. You're forced to take a step back and sniffle slightly, puffy eyes and runny nose not really helping your case.
Kyojuro turns the stove off and piles the neatly folded omelettes on a plate.
“You should be resting”, he smiles softly as he brings bowls and plates and cups and teapot to the table. You sigh, surrendering to sit and wait for him to be ready to do the same.
“I'm sorry you're forced to take care of me”, you grumble, cursing the afternoon you had decided to run outside and attempt to save your freshly hanged laundry from the sudden downpour.
Kyojuro sits at his usual place, next to you and never across from you. He jokingly claims that it's to see you better with the only eye he's left with but, really, he doesn't see any reason to be farther from you when the opposite is possible. He wouldn't call himself clingy, just... tenacious in his love for you. Ever since miraculously making it back home from a train mission, he's been more indulgent with himself and his feelings. He talks more, touches you more, is working hard to piece together a civil relationship with his father. Kyojuro is now able to cry, mostly at night, after a nightmare, but even as no sad thoughts are crossing his mind and all he's looking at is his brother laughing with the Kamado boy or you bickering with Tengen. Tears just start rolling down his cheeks abruptly and it's impossible to stop them, not by kissing them away, not by holding him, now by stroking his hair. Perhaps they have been waiting too many years and should now get to decide when and how and where to stop.
“Come here”, he demands, arms invitingly outstretched, lips stretched in a gentle smile. You comply, because how could you not? Of course you'll sit on his lap and let him press your back against his chest, of course you'll sigh as his lips softly press to a spot right behind your ear.
“I love you. Getting to take care of you makes me lucky”, he murmurs, rocking your body ever so slightly.
“But I can't always ask for that. You should get to rest as well”, you observe, only for his grip around you to grow tighter.
“You never ask for anything. All you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing”, his voice is quiet but you notice the slight crack in it. Kyojuro talks more now but that doesn't mean that he always knows the right way to say what he wants to say. It's pretty fortunate for him that you always understand.
All I give you, I give you because I'm so loved.
All I give you, I give you because you're my home.
All I give you, makes me feel privileged. Because I still get to give you.
Hi there! First off…yay fellow Swiftie! So my request is going to be Demon Slayer (sorry, but I don’t watch the other two animes,) in particular, for Gyomei Himejima. The lyric/prompt I would like to use is: “All they keep asking me is if I’m gonna be your bride.”
Thank you so much! Also, this seems like an amazing idea…I may just have to do this for all of her albums.
gyomei himejima x all they keep asking me is if i'm gonna be your bride
a/n: i'm so sorry for being this late, tysm for sending in your request! i've been very happy to write it for you <3 i hope you enjoy!
One thing about Gyomei and his presence is your life is the lightness of it.
He's everything, everywhere, all the time. Sunlight filtering through tree leaves, comforting steam rising up from a cup of tea, softness of freshly laundered linen, safety and warmness and kindness found in a world so harsh, cold, unfair.
Gyomei wants to give, incessantly: it sure took some time to convince him he's worthy of receiving as well. That's why you ask for very little and not so often. Still, he just can't help but give give give.
Sometimes it scares you. His I love yous can throb with hints of definitive farewells, you can discern the shakiness of his hands embedded in the letters he sends you whenever he's away. Ever the gentle lover, on occasion he'd turn desperate, kisses burning and grip almost bruising as if scared you will break apart and slip through his fingers like the golden sand you love so much if he doesn't hold you tight enough.
And, sometimes, you scare him as well. Gyomei knows you're crazy (in love) enough to face a demon should it mean keeping your little household safe, reckless (courageous) enough to quite literally fight Sanemi Shinazugawa when he's being particularly cocky, obsinate (smitten) enough to leave the room each time he'd try to initiate the maybe you'd be better off without me, you should be free to pursue a normal life discourse, not willing to listen but not willing to start a fight either. Because you couldn't even fathom such an impossible, unfair suggestion. His hinting at a normal life, as if you could ever have a life to live in the first place without him in it.
Gyomei is busy, often away, so you certainly do your best to keep your requests reasonable. A little just five more minutes grumbled at dawn, as soon as he gently tries to untangle the arms and legs you keep stubbornly wrapped around him; a soft let's take a walk even if you know he's tired and would much prefer to stay in, the fluttering touch of your fingertips across his cheeks, brows, bridge of a perfect nose as you let him know that it's your turn to make dinner. He'd huff a laugh and you'd smile in anticipation for the inevitable you claim to love me and yet you enjoy torturing the both of us because Gyomei can lift rocks and move mountains and mitigate Sanemi's temper but he can't, for the life of him, cook.
But today's different. Rain is falling heavily enough to be bending the leaves of the plants in your garden but the sound is so soothing you don't mind, not as you sit on the tatami floor of your bedroom, nestled between strong legs as equally strong but gentle hands pat your wet hair with a soft towel. Gyomei had met you a few yards away from your house, rushing right away to cover your trembling figure with the big red umbrella he'd grabbed before heading out.
Why'd you head out in the rain?
I didn't want to be late.
But you know I'll always come get you.
Well, we met halfway, didn't we?
You know he's not really annoyed, he never is. Just worried you'll catch a cold, as indicated by the warm bath he'd prepared right away as soon as you got home.
And now, as you sit with your back pressed to his chest, you're left wondering how to introduce a topic that's been sitting heavily on your tongue for the past months. It's something you have both thought about, joked about even, but never properly addressed.
“Are your siblings doing well? I wish to visit your family soon, we should go together next time”
“Of course. They talk about you all the time anyway” you don't have to turn around to know that he's smiling. Your parents have been showering him with respect and affection since day one and your siblings still can't quite believe someone as important as a hashira would materialize in their garden, sit at their table, be able to discern their amazed yet timid gazes and meet them with a smile each time, the youngest almost always sitting on his lap by the end of every lunch, dinner, breakfast, cup of tea.
“And that concerns you because?” of course he'd catch the way the tenderness in your tone conceals the tension. Or maybe it's the stiffness in your shoulders that gave it away.
You turn around to sit more comfortably and confront him, cross-legged and a bundle of nerves as your stomach flips at the mere thought of opening your mouth. God.
“My love?” he inquires, brows furrowed in confusion.
“There's something we discussed today. It's not the first time, actually”
Gyomei nodds, urging you to keep going. It takes a deep breath to allow the next words to slip past your lips.
“All they keep asking me is if I’m gonna be your bride”
Now his shoulders stiffen, a reaction you expected but that doesn't hurt any less.
“I'm sorry, I don't mean to pressure you” you're quick to add “their expectations shouldn't define us”
Gyomei stays silent for so long you curl your fingers in your lap, the veil of uneasiness settling on the room ever so silently as rain keeps drumming on the roof and wind howls outside the windows. He knows you want it just as much as your family and he can only hope you know just how much he wants it too. He'd marry you in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the weight of not being able to grant you a normal, safe, balanced life curving his shoulders each morning as he wakes and each night as he presses your body against his own.
“I don't blame them for having normal expectations” words come out attentively, voice so low it's barely a whisper. Your heart squeezes a little.
“It's just—” he takes a breath and palms close tightly around his knees “I can't ask you that. I can't promise enough to ask you that”
“You can't promise you'll love me?”
Gyomei is offended by such a question, you can see it in the in the displeased line of his mouth.
“In every world, in a hundred lifetimes, in any version of reality, I will love you. Do not mistake my hesitation for doubts about my feelings”
You reach for his hands, they feel hard and calloused in yours but they're also warm and familiar.
“I know how this goes. You're scared something will happen to you, you hate the thought of hurting me, but what about what I want? Is that less important, somehow?”
“I certainly wish you wouldn't make this so hard for me”
You crack a smile, thumb soothingly running across the back of his hand.
“And I wish you'd let me be your spouse. I wish you'd stop thinking you have to face the world on your own. That is, if you want me. A silly, useless woman who can't fight but at least doesn't risk burning the house down when crackin' an egg”
Gyomei scoffs as he reaches for your hips, dragging you all the way to his lap, and you indulge in a chuckle, legs and arms finding their way around him as his cheek presses to your shoulder. He's so big and yet manages to fold on himself whenever he hugs you like this.
“You talk so much nonsense” he playfully groans and you shrug with a smile that grows in size as his lips graze your exposed neck.
“I guess I'd be the luckiest man to ever live if you'd let me listen to it for the rest of my life”

yuuta okkotsu x you would break your back to make me break a smile
a/n: i am so flattered, thank you for your kindness. you're the first person to request something jjk related and i wanted to share how excited i was when i received your message! i'm so happy i got to write this for you and i sincerely hope you like it as well <3
The cup is way too hot and you're forced to switch it from one hand to another, which is pretty fucking difficult per se considering the bag full of snacks you've been carrying across the entire goddamn campus.
You knock again, with your head, a small mark already forming close to your right temple. He opens the door shortly after, one fist lazily rubbing his left eye and a yawn he doesn't even attempt to lessen in size nor sound.
“Hey, what're you doing here?”, he mutters, only slightly surprised at the sight of you standing by his doorway.
You let yourself in, not even bothering to reply, as you're positive the skin of your fingertips is about to melt away. You're wearing a green beanie and the mustard-colored scarf Maki has gifted you for your birthday. It's an odd combination that hides half of your face but you like having the opportunity to avoid the inconvenience of a frozen nose and chapped lips.
Yuuta watches you place a cup and a bag on his desk as you unravel yourself from that giant scarf you walk around in almost daily. He finds it bizarre, really, the fact that you always bring just one cup.
“How can you even sleep so much? What're you, a freakin' dormouse?”, you exhale as you plop on his unmade bed, vigorously rubbing your hands in hopes of getting some warmth from the friction. His room is way colder than yours, probably the coldest of the entire school. You wonder if that's also Rika's fault but you know better than to ask such a question.
“It's not like I have much else to do when I'm not on mission”, he shrugs, eyes curiously darting to the wrinkled bag abandoned on his desk. Now, the content of the cup he can easily guess: it's usually either cocoa or green tea, the only exception having been the day he had a sore throat and you had left a mug of piping hot milk and honey on the floor, outside his room. But food? It varies too much. It's too early for dinner and way too late for lunch, so what could it be? Have you baked something? Is it even going to be dessert? What are the chances of finding those lime and pink pepper chips he loves so much in there?
“It's a little bit of everything”, you end his silent rumination with an amused expression, “caramel corn, dried plums, shredded squid, daifuku, those disgusting chips you like, matcha kit kats. Would you shut the door? I'm freezing”
Yuuta tilts his head slightly, pensive. Then he reaches out to grab both the coat resting on his chair and the cup.
“Let's take a walk”, he proposes, and you have to suppress the horrified expression threatening to take over your features. You have to keep quiet and wrap yourself in your scarf again, exit the room and wait for him to grab an umbrella as the first snow of the season is expected for the evening. You have to keep the dangerous excitement bubbling in your stomach at bay, remind yourself that it means nothing. Even if he never asks for anything. Even if he never suggests doing anything. Even if it's the first time he hasn't politely asked to be left alone after a few minutes of painfully standard small talk.
So you end up strolling through a glacial Tokyo, pace slow but comfortable. Yuuta blows on his cup before taking small sips and soon insists on getting you a coffee because if your breath has to take the shape of small, misty clouds floating before your lips, he might as well make sure their density increases while you don't freeze to death.
There's a lot you don't understand about each other. Yuuta doesn't get why you care for him so tenaciously, how on earth you can even breathe through that scarf, when you had the time to learn about his favorite snacks or birthday, how you can hold real conversations with Inumaki.
As you accept to sit next to him on the grass right at the edge of a quiet canal, despite the stinging wind that's burning your cheeks, you too think about the things you don't understand about Yuuta Okkotsu. How he can sleep so much and still walk around with such dark circles, why he believes a curse should be allowed to control his life and keep other people away till the end of freaking time, why he refuses to do anything about his hands being always cold. Sure, you can guess. You can believe that he's this freaky guy who enjoys splashing around in his own misfortunes and basks in the idea of being doomed to loneliness, unhappiness, the destiny of a hero willing to immolate his whole life in exchange for everyone else's safety. Yet, you choose not to on the very same day he steps foot inside the campus. The day you, along with each of your classmates, almost slashed his throat right then and there, incredulous at the darkness he had been allowed to carry inside your school.
Still, you choose not to. Because Yuuta Okkotsu is kind, bent and resigned to the weight dwelling on his shoulders, willing to smile at Panda's dumb jokes, disappointed in Maki's initial skepticism, skeptical himself of the excessive credit Gojo gives him. And so, what if you're unable to lift the burden that follows him everywhere? What if you can't dissipate the shadows weighing down his gaze? You can keep his hands warm. You can buy something nice to eat, visit his room from time to time, just to make sure he's doing alright in his stupid, stubborn, seclusion. You can take note of precious information and make the most out of it: what makes him laugh, what's best not to mention, the fact that he doesn't like brown as a color and finds your scarf weird. You're willing to collect pieces and put them together for as long as it takes.
“Thanks”, he murmurs after a while, “I do notice, you know”
“Notice what?”
You, everything. Always.
“The willingness to go out of your way for me”
“I don't do anything, really. Besides getting you those nasty chips, but only because no one in their right mind would buy them and I feel sorry for the shop owner”, you're quick to hide your face behind your coffee, taking a quick and long sip that ends up burning your tongue.
“You would break your back to make me break a smile”, he insists, with a boldness even he doesn't know where is coming from.
“Jeez, didn't know you thought so highly of yourself”, you face the other way as you speak, because you can feel the heat rising up from your throat to the very roots of your hair. And Yuuta sees right through your embarrassed sarcasm, but he has to fight back a smile just in case Rika sees through it too.
Hii !! 😁 Finally got around to properly reading through your event, and would like to send in a request❣️
“Once upon a time, the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned, you and I ended up in the same room at the same time,” w/ Levi (AoT)?! I’d like to drown in fluff pls and ty. 😌😂
Hope you’re having fun writing for your event !! I feel so spoiled getting to request something from a fave of mine. 🫢💓 Tyvm !!
levi ackerman x once upon a time, the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned, you and I ended up in the same room at the same time
a/n: it's a pleasure and an honor to write something for you <3
The tea shop is reasonably quiet as you stand by the counter, eyes focused while scanning the minimal menu board hanging on the wall behind the cashier. She's nice and probably glad there's no one standing in line behind you because you're taking fucking forever, as the one person standing next to you would politely put it.
“I think I'm gonna go with, uhm, lotus tea. Is it good?”, a soft, apologetic smile tugs at your lips as the cashier briefly turns around to take a look at the menu herself.
“Yes, the trà sen is sweet and quite useful for relieving stress”
“Sounds perfect for me, then”
Levi has already offered to pay but you really wanted for this one to be on you, for a change. It's his favorite place, after all, the one where he spends almost all his lunch breaks and mornings, on the days he gets to work from home. It's actually quite fancy and not self-service based, despite orders being taken directly at the counter. Members of the staff bring the orders to the table, with porcelain cups, small teapots made of black ceramic and, occasionally, a plate with a few neatly piled senbei.
He likes the tea shop so much you remember him listing all the reasons why it's the best one in town on your second date.
They know which ones to brew for under two minutes.
Staff doesn't talk much.
They memorize your order easily.
Bathroom's clean.
And ever since, you take pride in having memorized exactly what he likes. Black in the morning (brewed for 3-5 minutes), green or white in the afternoon (4-5 minutes), zest black in the evening (3-5 minutes), peppermint if it's snowing (4-5 minutes), licorice root when his throat is sore (4-5 minutes).
The brush of a hand on your forearm as soon as you're done with the payment and he gently guides you to the table next to the window overlooking the sidewalk, his table. You don't apologize for the time it took you to decide on the order, not anymore. Levi is constant in showing just how much he doesn't mind waiting. He stays by your side as you read all the different tea types over and over again, hand on the small of your back. He waits on a platform that isn't his, because he will never step on the train that will take him home, no matter how late it is, unless he's sure you're safely on your way first (and, besides, it gives him an excuse to listen to your voice for a while longer). Levi is at close distance the entire time you scan shelves upon shelves packed with make-up products, aromatherapy shower steamers, weighted blankets, snarky adult coloring books as you frantically look for the best birthday gift for your mom or best friend. He sits right behind you, legs wide enough for you to squeeze in between and rest your back on his chest while you work with your laptop balanced on your lap, one of his hands gently massaging your scalp. Even if it's his couch and he was working on it first. Even if he hates missing deadlines. He will, for you.
“Levi” you softly call, although there's no need, he's already looking at you.
“Hm?”
“How would you tell someone about us?”
Confusion settles in the crests forming between his furrowed brows.
“What d'you mean?”
You gesture vaguely with your hands.
“How would you recount the story of us to someone? I mean, from the very beginning to, let's say, Erwin”
“Erwin already knows about the story of us, he was there”
“Okay, Hange, then?”
“Hange's your friend too now, they know everyth—”
Your impatient although playful sigh interrupts him as your nails lightly drum on the table.
“This is a hypothetical question, Levi. Just imagine you'd have to tell someone everything, from scratch”
His features don't really read impressed but nevertheless, he decides to play along. Doesn't he always?
“Do you need this to be sickeningly romantic, by any chance?”
You shrug.
“I'll leave that to your judgement”
Levi takes a sip of his tea, graceful as always, sometimes he has you wondering if he even belongs to the current century. Then he usually removes all doubt as soon as he curses under his breath his fuckin' asshole idiotic co-worker (usually Floch) or wonders why such a goddamn spoiled jackass (usually Eren) can't ever deliver his work on time.
“Alright” he sounds oddly confident as he clears his throat, but you recognize the mirthful glow in his gaze before he even starts “once upon a time, the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned, you and I ended up in the same room at the same time-”
You groan and he can't fight back the smile anymore, although he manages to hide half of it behind his cup.
“It shouldn't be that romantic—”
“Would you mind? I'm telling a story”
Although it's something he rarely does in public, he wishes he could reach across the table to kiss your pout away. With raised brows, he waits until he's sure you won't interrupt him again.
“My best friend decided to throw a house party, like some damn teenager, and I was forced to be there. Clearly, I hated every second of it. Until, can you guess? This earth-shattering, gorgeous woman walks in, already half-drunk on one of the two wine bottles she brought as a gift, arm in arm with her best friend. She finds me in the kitchen a few moments later and just starts having this absolutely unhinged monologue about cheese being the opposite of ham because they go together on a sandwich”
“Can't believe you remember all that” you feel slightly flustered, half embarrassed, ears still buzzing around the words earth-shattering and gorgeous. You also just voiced a big fat lie because by now you're oh so aware of how Levi just doesn't forget anything, ever.
“And I don't even know her name, mind you, but I keep listening until she asks for my opinion on the matter. Guess what I reply?”
“That cheese may be more adjacent to ham but its opposite is clearly mustard”
The airy chuckle he lets out makes you smile as well. For once, he's the one to surprise you as his hand reaches yours at last, fingers intertwined for everyone to see.
“It's partly what I actually believe, you know”
“What?” you ask, giving his hand a light squeeze.
Levi shrugs.
“That stars, planets and fates did align, the night I got to meet you”
“This is the first time I’ve felt the need to confess.”

arataki itto x this is the first time i've felt the need to confess
warnings: mentions of alcohol
a/n: you're special enough to get a special itto piece <3
The first thought that crosses your mind is that it feels sticky. Not figuratively, because air can't actually be sticky, but metaphorically it absolutely feels like you've just stepped into some icky environment where the only air you can breathe is thick and gooey and disgusting.
The music and chatter are so loud you clench the plastic bag filled with the stupid chicken empanadas you've let Yoimiya, your roommate, convince you to bring to the stupid party you didn't even want to go to in the first place. She, on the other hand, seems ecstatic as always. The energy she carries around never fails to match the environment she finds herself in and her bubbly personality is the perfect match for rooms filled with obnoxious, loud, excited people. Like the one you're currently in.
“It was so nice of him to invite us!” she happily looks around and waves to a stranger or two as your nose cynically scrunches up.
“It was nice. We didn't have to accept” you grumble, mindlessly leaving the plastic bag on a kitchen counter filled with bottles, toppled red cups and chip crumbs. Even this room is filled with people, which is enough to make you attempt a deep breath to swallow your anxiety. Small apartment plus hordes of guests is one of the worst equations you can be part of.
“But he wanted you to come so bad” she grins, casually diving one hand into one of the colorful bag of snacks abandoned on the table.
“It was a guilt-ridden invitation. He knows he hasn't done shit for our group project and still managed to score a good grade”
“Thanks to you”
“Thanks to me, Sara, Kazu, and Thoma”
Yoimiya impatiently rolls her eyes.
“Okay, but he was still nice enough to invite you to his party. This could be our chance to meet new people!”
“Christ, just go tell the Kamisato siblings you have a crush on them so we can leave”
Your best friend opens her mouth to protest, cheeks already flushed, but is interrupted by both the laugh you huff and a boisterous voice from behind you that makes you jump.
“You came!” Itto cheers, crimson eyes boring into yours and smile so wide you're almost tempted to reciprocate right away.
“Thanks for inviting us” you feel yourself sound so proper and polite you suddenly wish Sara could've been there instead of having to surrender to the supid flu. She would've pinched you.
“Nah, don't mention it! What can I get ya?” Itto is so tall and broad he's basically hovering above you but he has this weird, affable aura that never once makes him intimidating. He'd meet someone and become their friend in the span of 30 seconds, something very similar to what had happened when you were assigned to the same group project. He had arrived at the campus library, cracked one joke, offered to get everyone coffee to apologize for being late and boom, he instantly became everyone's favorite person (an outrage, given that you, Thoma and Kazuha grew up together and Sara is one of your closest friends). What makes it worse is that it's impossible to dislike him because he's so irritatingly genuine. Not an ounce of deceit in that gigantic body.
“Thanks, m'good” you mutter.
“If you don't drink there's a bowl of virgin sangria” he hasn't looked away from your eyes once so you nervously shift your weight from one leg to the other. Yoimiya has disappeared god knows where, your guess is she's on a mission to grab enough mojitos to muster the courage to introduce herself to Ayaka by the end of the night. It'd be about damn time.
“Okay”
His smile is blinding as he reaches across the kitchen counter to fill you a glass. He's grabbed a proper one, not one of those red plastic cups.
“Thank you” your fingers graze his as you accept the glass. They're cold, must be why you shudder. Does he ask someone to paint his nails black or does he do that himself?
“So, uh, how come the rest of our group couldn't come?” he's invited everyone, of course he has. It's hard to ignore the way your stomach contracts at the way the words our group leave his mouth. It sounds good. It sounds non temporary. It sounds threacherous.
“Sara's sick, Kazu and Thoma are having one of their dumb gaming nights”
“Right!” he laughs another one of his overexcited laughs “their channel's so cool!”
Cool isn't exactly the word you would use but it is kinda cute how thrilled they get whenever they receive a donation or a nice comment. They also get their fair share of indecent proposals, an information you often enjoy using for teasing purposes.
“They'd be happy to have you as a guest” you take a sip of your drink and the sweetness of the cranberry juice burns your throat a little.
“Would you be there too?” now that's one malicious smirk, sharp but cute canine teeth in plain sight. Fuck.
“It's not really my thing” you attempt to brush the question off with a nervous chuckle. He opens his mouth to respond with god knows what charismatic comeback but, thankfully, he's interrupted by a clearly drunk Gorou who materializes next to him and places a small hand on his massive shoulder.
“M'looking for more shrimps” he leans into his arm and hiccups. Itto rolls his eyes with fake annoyance but you can read the fondness in them.
“Whatcha gonna do with shrimps?” he politely asks, foot tapping impatiently.
“Did I say shrimps?” Gorou chuckles to himself "I meant drinks"
You seize the opportunity to sneak out of the kitchen and dive right into the living room and its throng of guests. Catching a glimpse of Yoimiya sitting on a couch next to the Kamisato siblings makes you smile, but you don't let yourself get distracted and keep marching towards your (hopefully) oasis of fresh air and muffled music: the balcony.
As you close the sliding door behind you, the cold breeze feels like a balm on your feverish skin. You quite literally sink onto the orange bean bag and take a deep breath, fingers clenching the glass still in your hand. Okay you might, perhaps, have a small crush on the tall, broad, popular idiot. You might think the red makeup that extends from his upper eyelid to this lower one is attractive, you may wonder if his silver hair is as soft as it looks, and it's possible that you have asked yourself how his arms would feel under your fingertips, how his muscles would contract if you so much as grazed—
“Nope” you grumble to yourself and promptly take your phone out of your pocket, tapping your dating app open right away. It hasn't worked wonders for you (yet) but it's a nice diversion and some guys are entertaining enough for you not to want to stick a fork in their eye. Not immediately, at least.
“6'3 my ass!” the proximity of the woefully familiar voice makes you jump but Itto doesn't lose his composure as he rubs his chin, eyes skeptically scanning the bio of the red haired guy you didn't actually want to swipe away.
“What?” you're appalled as he casually sits down next to you, back pressed against the sliding door, so close his knee is brushing against your thigh.
“He's lying. I can tell” he shrugs “why're you using that shit anyway?”
“You don't?” in an attempt to dodge a question that makes you appear equal parts lame and pathetic, you ask an even dumber one. As if he would ever need to.
“Yeah, sometimes. M'not really lucky though” he takes a sip from the beer can in his hand.
Huh?
“You're kidding” it's impossible to hide your skepticism and he smiles at your frown.
“I have a hard time dealing with women”
“There's literally a facebook group named after your abs”
He laughs at that, although it's a softer sound that surprises you.
“I know, I've been invited to join” his chuckle fades into a sweet smile, eyes suddenly avoiding your gaze “but doesn't really matter when you feel so inadequate, does it?”
The Arataki Itto feels what?
“Are you drunk?” you inquire and he glances at you again, making your heart skip a beat. You've never been close enough to smell his woodsy cologne before.
“It's true. I try to compensate, ya know, by being all loud and positive and exuberant but I hardly fit in and no one ever takes me seriously” he takes another sip from his can and then proceeds to slowly crumple it up in his hand “shit, s'weird. This is the first time I’ve felt the need to confess. Am I being too lame?”
“No” your reply is as quick as your pulse, although slightly quavering “I don't think you could be lame if you tried”
Itto's gaze softens as he lets it flicker from your eyes to your lips, as if to make sure you've actually uttered those words. He absentmindedly raises his hand to cup your cheek, brows furrowed in concentration as his thumb gently strokes the corner of your mouth to get rid of a pinkish droplet of your mocktail.
“So” he tilts his head as a curious puppy would, absolutely unaware of how dry your throat suddenly is “am I not lame enough to kiss you?”

“It's like snow at the beach, weird but fucking beautiful.”
“I broke his heart cause he was nice.”
“And I miss you but I miss sparklin'.”
“It was war, it wasn't fair.”
“How the hell did we lose sight of us again?”
“What if I told you none of it was accidental?”
“Summer went away, still, the yearning stays.”
“I’ll be getting over you my whole life.”
“What if I told you I'm a mastermind?”
“You were more than just a short time.”
“What could've been, would've been you.”
“I’m so in love that I might stop breathing.”
“If clarity's in death then why won't this die?”
“I didn’t choose this town, I dream of getting out.”
“This is the first time I’ve felt the need to confess.”
“I’m damned if I do give a damn what people say.”
“Sometimes I wonder which one’ll be your last lie.”
“To you, I can admit that I’m just too soft for all of it.”
“You did some bad things, but I’m the worst of them.”
“All that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing.”
“All they keep asking me is if I’m gonna be your bride.”
“It must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero.”
“And what’s that that I heard? That you’re still with her?”
“My town was a wasteland. Full of cages, full of fences.”
“I have this thing where I get older, but just never wiser.”
“You would break your back to make me break a smile.”
“Do you wish you could still touch her? It’s just a question.”
“Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room?”
“And the first night that you saw me, I knew I wanted your body.”
“Karma’s a relaxing thought. Aren’t you envious that for you it’s not?”
“He wanted it comfortable, I wanted that pain.”
“You know how much I hate that everybody just expects me to bounce back just like that.”
“Once upon a time, the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned, you and I ended up in the same room at the same time.”
