Just in time for the #midwestmountaineering #outdooradventureexpo in #minneapolis
15 years ago I walked into Midwest Mountaineering and asked the salesmen for a pair of boots to take on a 3 week hike through the Himalayan mountains. He led me to this pair of Merrell boots and said, 'You need these'. Twenty-something me said, 'That's three times more money than I have' to which he replied, "You really need these". These boots turned out to be one of the best purchases I've ever made they've come on hikes with me through Nepal, Colorado, the Badlands, countless places in the Midwest and finally, the Laugavegur Hike in Iceland where sadly the sole fell off the third day in. With a little bit of duct tape these bad boys made it through their final trail. I want to thank that salesmen out there, wherever he is, for not letting me cheap out and a special thanks to my big heavy boots that I've loved so much - I'm gonna miss you.
