  “I hope he’s doing okay.” Bree whispered in the pale moonlight.

“Look at him. He looks fine.” Alec comforted his wife. The little motherless foal was running around in the dark pasture with his buddy, Goldy. Their ‘mother’ looked over from where she grazed. “Splash is taking good care of both of them.”

“But what if he’s unhappy and we don’t know it?” Bree fretted and leaned on the fence.

“He runs around like a normal foal, he never even knew his mother.”

“I know but he’s a little bit of a loner.”

“All horses are loners.... or losers.”
